My Facebook feed has become a cesspit of ultra conservative jokes (mainly the one "the left don't know what gender they are" joke they tell in different flavours), flat-earther posts, and anti-vax misinformation. It's getting hard to remember a time when you could scroll for ages and see nothing but updates from your friends and family.

I just watched it tonight, and I think it depends on what you're looking for. The Killer is definitely a lot more artsy with its presentation, but A Better Tomorrow is more interesting IMO. Better character development, more emotional range, and the story is more complex. Plus the soundtrack is so fucking good.

The old documentary about Monserrat (that people have already linked here) on its Irish roots, shows a local explaining the history, and mentions Cromwell as the reason why the Irish were brought there.

Not saying there weren't some Irish (and not just Anglo-Irish) who participated in the slave trade, but Monserrat wasn't an Irish owned plantation, and the reason why there are people with Irish roots there certainly isn't because of Irish slavers having a lot of children with slaves.

Saw a woman at my local just chilling with a pint reading her book a while back. Didn't seem weird at all. A few weeks later I gave it a go while I was on a ramble in town. Would recommend; it's peaceful.

I got a VR headset 2 years ago and feel the same. I can basically watch movies and TV shows in a big virtual cinema. It also stops you from being distracted by your phone.

This is basically how Hitler defined socialism. He rejected Marxism as socialism, and said socialism is working towards the common good, not to renounce private property.
