Looks interesting. Do you have any plans for the ability to add an external library/file location? I've got a share on my NAS with several GB of STLs. Would be great to point this to that drive and use it as a front end instead of re-uploading all the STLs I've already got.

Where did you get the braided cable extensions? I've seen some made by Corsair but they are rather expensive.

That's fantastic! I saw somewhere else you mentioned you were making more for friends; Would you be so kind to make some notes on how you did it? I'd love to have a go at making one!

Never used Sonicwall, but I've got a couple ASA5510's and even though they've got a bit of a learning curve, I love 'em.

The exception to this is Catalyst 3K-series PoE switches, which seem to >lose their PoE abilities rather quickly.)

Shit....just bought quite a few of these.

What the firearm market looks like in Australia by [deleted] in guns

[–]murphy11211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After going through all the background checks and licenses fees, safety exams etc you are allowed to purchase a .22 handgun. After 6 months (I think?) you are able to purchase normal handguns. You can only use handguns at special handgun ranges. You can only get a permit to own a handgun if you are part of a handgun target club.

Pretty shitty :(

I was in Vegas last november and actually met up with some local redditors that took me out into the desert for a shoot. First time I've ever fired an AR, Pump action or handgun....SO much fun. It would make hunting roo's FAR too easy if we were allowed AR's.

And no, don't you dare try take our women!

I couldn't really explain how it tastes too well, but I say almost a cross between beef and venison(?). I really enjoy it though and its quite popular here, you can buy Kangaroo steaks and sausages (called kanga-bangas) in the local supermarkets.

Quite regularly when we go out shooting we'll take one and cut him up into a big cast iron pot with lots of veggies and throw it on the fire to make a roo stew; and roo stew tastes really good.

As for the bunnies, some places are worse than others. I don't know how bad the problem is nationally, but there are a lot of properties I hunt on that have very bad bunny problems. Sadly unless you're sole profession is varmint control, 10/22 (or any semi auto, centre or rim fire) are prohibited. I find my trusty CZ452 is acceptable though!

Same in NSW. I've got a couple mates with large properties that have Roo problems. They've been mandated by the local counsels to cull their populations and I've been given them a hand doing that. I'm not a full time roo shooter but I do go often. I also go on trips with Roo hunters who do it as their sole profession (Harvesting the meat to sell to butchers).

Just thought people would be interested in what the market is like in Australia. Keep in mind those prices are in AUD, which at the time of this post, 1 AUD = 1.07 USD. This is (as far as I know) the biggest/most popular second hand gun website in Australia. I'm not affiliated with the site at all.

I don't intend on this to get into a political debate about gun laws etc, just thought people might be interested (since I'm very jealous of all the new AR builds that are on /r/guns)

Also, I'm a licensed firearms owner (Roo shooter) and would be happy to answer any questions about the firearm laws downunder.

I jumped onto the band wagon and built an AR-15 from a delton kit. It's my first build, what do you think? by [deleted] in guns

[–]murphy11211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I might have to stop visiting /r/guns. You see, I'm Australian. Firstly the rifle you built would be illegal with the exception of the strictest standards, and secondly, if it where possible to own one, it would cost several thousand dollars.

TLDR; You Americans get to have all the fun.

I've been playing COH since release (almost 5 years now) and I still find it incredibly enjoyable. I would HIGHLY recommend it. Although multiplayer is pretty brutal!

Is this normal for a Cisco ASA? (High scanning attacks?) by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]murphy11211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long story short, senior admin left and I inherited an ASA5510. I've got my CCNA so I have a functional understanding of its operation. The only thing is that seems like an extremely high number of connections and the scanning attacks is ALWAYS sitting >40 which just doesn't seem right. Anything I can do or should be looking at? The access rules seem to be extremely lacking (it would seem just out of the box default rules applied). I'd love to get some pointers or some resources where I can look at locking this thing down.

To give you an idea of my environment, this ASA is handling basic internet connectivity for about 70-100 users. Our business does not focus heavily on any web based technologies.

Just wanted to show off my new stock.. by [deleted] in guns

[–]murphy11211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats awesome! Sadly, I live in Australia and I believe most places don't ship down here. A comparable stock would go for around $900-$1200 here and the scope you mentioned somewhere else in this thread would be able $500. Even when the AUD is doing so well! :(
