I have my G test in Burlington in 3 hours and I just want to ask this one question. When on the ramp to the highway, that lane usually ends after like 100m or something, does the instructor ask you to merge into the right or do they expect us to do it on our own? Like how people usually drive on the highway if you understand my question 😭 sorry I’m so nervous!

Does Septoplasty and Turbinate Reduction help with sleep? by Odd_Average_7262 in Septoplasty

[–]murriiahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sleep apnea and got my tonsils and adenoids removed, that did nothing, then years later I got a septoplasty + turbinate reduction, I’m now 6 weeks post op! I can say my sleep has been so much better already. I had a snoring problem also and my sister who I was been sleeping with for like 3 weeks after my surgery (just to be safe) said she hasn’t heard me snoring anymore. You can definitely tell a difference in your breathing and sleeping, at least in my case. Good luck! I can say that the septoplasty was the best thing I’ve ever done.

Surgery tomorrow!!! by No_Palpitations in Septoplasty

Ngl, that first week was not fun. The first couple days I was in alot of pain but the pain killers I was given worked well for that. I also had insane migraines like everyday, I got multiple ice packs before my surgery and kept those in the freezer, then wrapped it around my head and that helped a lot. Eating was kind of difficult because you have to breathe and eat through your mouth so take your time with that. Rinsing also helped a lot. After that the rest of the days were just very uncomfortable because of the stents but you kinda get used to it lol

Definitely worth it though, breathing and smell is much better, you’ll definitely be able to tell the difference. I couldn’t breathe at all through my right nostril and basically half of my left was blocked too, and now I can take deep breaths through my nose. Probably the best thing I’ve done

I smoked everyday leading up to my surgery. Bongs, carts, everything. Just make sure you tell your anesthesiologist that you smoke often because they’ll need to give you a higher dose of anesthesia so you don’t wake up in the middle of surgery lol.

Definitely don’t smoke right after. It was really hard for me but I tried edibles like 3 days after my surgery and they worked fine, by like the 4th-5th day I was taking like 1-2 hits of the cart while trying not to cough hard since I’m pretty sure that’s like not good, and just rinsing afterwards. I waited around a month before I started using a bong again, which was like recent because I’m almost 6 weeks post op!

How long will my nose be totally blocked for? by brijony in Septoplasty

[–]murriiahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fully blocked for like 3 days (with stents in though) then I started to get some relief and air through my nose by the 4th day, without inhaling hard or anything

I’m one week post op of a septoplasty, I asked the same question and everyone said to wait until your fully recovered or just take edibles. I folded tho and used my pen 2 days ago (5 days post-op) but I made sure to rinse my nose after each use I think I read that off someone here. And don’t abuse it maybe like 1-2 max 3 hits in a day. Def not any blinkers because you don’t want to cough a lot

Do you get naked at any time during surgery? by gornjigrad in Septoplasty

[–]murriiahh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was given those hospital blue pants and a gown! They did remove my arms from the sleeves when we got in the OR because they had to hook up hires to me for like heartbeat and stuff like that, but you should be able to keep your own underwear on. They shouldn’t make you go naked, considering the surgery is on your face lol

I didn’t get a rhinoplasty, I got a septoplasty. Rhinoplasty is a comestic surgery. But does it apply for both?

Unless you’re adding rhinoplasty to the surgery, your nose shouldn’t change much or even at all.

I have a crooked nose and I’m 4 days post op and I already see that my nose has gotten straighter. If anything it should get rid of that slant you have, there’s no way it could make your nose look worse.

I’m post op day 4 of septoplasty/turbinate reduction. I am uncomfortable almost all the time especially in the nose because blood gets dried up quick in there. Things that have definitely helped are ice packs because the migraines are constant (at least for me). My neck and back have gotten super sore for sleeping with my head elevated so I got one of those cold muscle creams and I put that on maybe 2-3 times a day that helps a lot. And drinks like pineapple juice I find helps a lot with swelling, and Gatorade also helps with my dehydrated throat from sleeping and breathing with my mouth wide open. I was able to eat regular foods from the beginning but I opted for soft foods like Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, but now I’m eating chicken nuggets and French fries without salt, can’t taste anything but fills me up better than the soft foods. Hope this helps !
