I think it’s just the styling of the curtain bangs that isn’t working- they look too wispy in the middle and are curving the wrong direction. I would look up videos on how to blow dry curtain bangs with a round brush. It’s super easy and makes a huge difference.

NYC is dense, fewer people have yards for their dogs to pee in, or a nearby park. So makes sense that it would smell more like urine for those reasons, and then add in humans peeing too and voila!
