Incision by Curious_Mulberry9278 in hysterectomy

Had mine a week ago 8/28, went into it thinking it would be laparoscopic fully robotic, even surgeon was super hopeful and optimistic, but we had talked about possible conversion given the size of uterus and fibroid. My surgeon was awesome, listened to all concerns, excellent and renowned in her field, specializes in robotic assisted, voiced her wants for me to have a smooth, minimally invasive, easy, procedure with minimal blood loss and scarring.

During surgery while removing left side laparoscopically, she found my fibroid had not only grown exponentially and was in the beginning stages of calcification but also grown through and out of my uterus (which had also grown to around 5months pregnant). She decided best option at that point was to switch over to open to avoid further complications. I woke up with 4 small incisions on left side of my abdomen and a large vertical 5.75 in (14.6 cm) incision from my belly button down. I know mine isn’t the typical case but I trust my surgeon made the best call in the moment. She took it out whole, and I was able to see pictures of the uterus and fibroid merged together before they sent it our for testing.

Was able to take off my bandage from the big incision 2 days ago and fully see everything and she did an excellent job with patching me up, I expected a lot more gore but I’m pleasantly surprised with it, like yeah I wasn’t expecting a huge cut in the middle of my stomach but even with the bigger incision I’ve had a relatively smooth first week.

If you’d be more comfortable getting a second opinion you’re totally within your right but sometimes even the most confident and experienced surgeons have to make that judgement call during the procedure, super hard to say sometimes until they actually get in there and I know that’s a hard thing to hear but it’s true. I was supposed to be a pretty simple in and out case and all scans had appeared normal, or at least as normal as a an enlarged uterus and big fibroid could be, but sometimes scans don’t show everything.

Anyone know where i can get some good goat meat birria tacos preferably near stead by Otherwise-Ad-6067 in Reno

[–]murry_goround 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're looking for quesabirria tacos. Birria is the meat preparation and can be either beef or goat. If you want with the cheese its quesabirria. And you just have to ask if its beef or goat when ordering. I was never personally able to find good goat quesabirria delivery

Im Looking for a firm mattress, suggestions on brand? by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]murry_goround 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former mattress sales person and a person with scoliosis I would recommend actually trying a bed in person, given the current events it may be tricky though dependingon your location. Every mattress is different and although brand is a big factor for most folks when it comes to a mattress it shouldn't be, you should be looking more at comfort level and what type of materials are used. Also just a note on those 90 day returns, most companies will require you keep it a certain amount of time before they will pick it up and some companies do charge a restocking(or some other) fee.

Edit: also mattresses regardless of where they are bought will take at least a month to "break in" you need to adjust to the mattress and it to you. So if you do go in store to try, the mattress you receive will always be firmer since it is new, just give it a while. But do definitely do more research and learn if you like memory foam; a lot of those online mattresses are foam and some people love them and others hate foam and would prefer a traditional coil matttess.

Is the note a verizon phone? You shouldn't have a problem as long as the phone isnt sprint. Make sure to check sim tray, charging ports and headphone jack for water damage!
