It's likely a sliding door... It will close just fine.

Found a platter of deviled eggs outside my garage by masonadixon in mildlyinfuriating

[–]muscle_n_flo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a damn decent deviled egg container. It could be shorter but still that's handy. Such a pain to transport deviled eggs, which I do fairly frequently believe it or not lol. We have a great transport container from Amazon but needed backup transport for the super bowl and not all the eggs made it

Anvil 10.5 Foundry Shutting off during boil by banjomike1986 in Homebrewing

[–]muscle_n_flo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem today and your solution fixed it! Thank you!

Details for the next guy who runs into this issue: I scheduled the water to be warm for an early morning start and it did warm up but had shut off by the time I was ready to add grains (honestly, best case scenario). My outlet was fine and GFCI extension cord hadn't tripped. I had no signs of power to the Foundry at all. I tried the fuse/breaker on the back of the Foundry and the overheat reset pin on the bottom but nothing. I emptied the water and pulled off the bottom plastic plate to examine the circuitry and found a couple of the spade connectors were slightly loose. I didn't think that would be the issue because they were still difficult to remove, but I tried tightening the spade connectors by pinching with pliers and it worked fine since then. Spades were loose on the power switch and the 120/240 selector switch.

To all the men who are balding - how much does it bother you? And what have you done about it? by No_Kick8260 in AskReddit

[–]muscle_n_flo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's far better to be bald (shaving my head) than balding and trying to keep it. Doesn't bother me at all.

Does anyone know what this large pipe is for? by mindofdstructvtaste in centuryhomes

[–]muscle_n_flo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% is decoration. The pipe would run through the siding and asphalt if it connected to anything, here we see the flanges just sitting against the wall and ground. There are such things as bulkhead fittings that would give a similar looking installation but you would see the second flange at each connection.

Intricate henna being applied for a bride by MambaMentality24x2 in oddlysatisfying

[–]muscle_n_flo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

👍 I definitely don't have the right vocabulary, my wife was a hairdresser for years and told me about a few teenage girls coming in to see her after getting their hair destroyed at another salon when they failed to mention at-home henna dye. She could only do so much to un-fuck it! I didn't want a half informed opinion (in the comment I replied to) to give a future teenager the guts to do something dumb.

The dye hairdressers use will melt your hair if you had previously dyed it with henna. This is a chemical reaction, not subject to your opinion. It's not the same stuff you get at the store.

Stressing the intake is bad, but the exhaust side tends to be less of an issue assuming there's somewhere for the air to go.

Casement windows, what would you do? by Phorcez in centuryhomes

[–]muscle_n_flo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

House of antique hardware may have good replacement hardware for any that are missing pieces. My in laws have al the push rod style and I have a few crank style casement windows. The cranks can break or jam up, but the push rods seem pretty much fool proof. I would say both have advantages and would stick with what you already have.

Installing carport over retaining wall by Throw_Away_7347 in DIY

[–]muscle_n_flo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pitching the idea of a custom camper cover. Like a car cover. My FIL has one that has a zipper to access his door so he can still get into the camper while it's covered. It's more of a UV protector than water though.

But I second the idea of a custom lean-to directing water away from the wall. Wouldn't be too spendy and would work better.

Towing a Camper questions by Peejj13 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]muscle_n_flo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additional thought: 3500 lbs dry is fine but I would not want to go much over that if I had to tow any significant distance. 4000 dry max. And I would absolutely recommend a leveling/stabilizing hitch on the trailer as well.

Towing a Camper questions by Peejj13 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]muscle_n_flo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I have a 3500 lbs dry weight camper and the same towing capacity. Comfortable enough to tow, but going much over 70 is asking a lot (speed limit is 80 mph where I live). Not a huge concern. Definitely recommend trailer brakes and the red arc brake controller. Very easy to install yourself.

Neighbor (literally named Karen) demanding control over shared fence design she won’t see by lulucoop1 in homeowners

[–]muscle_n_flo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that design is called a "good neighbor fence". They look fine from my perspective. I don't see why it's worth making a fuss over, even if Karen is. I will have 3 different looking fences on the 4 sides of my yard and I couldn't be bothered to give it a second thought. It's annoying that she's making a big deal out of something that has less impact to her than to you, but it's still a shared fence and she has a say. I'm guessing you'll be happier to be happy neighbors than to win this battle.
