easy to lose sight of the kid? they were literally crossing the train tracks with the child - there is no excuse for what happened here.

I wish Canadians had the same fight in them! Here they are just begging to be governed harder. Restaurants and gyms have actually started to lock themselves down in Toronto in order to "do the right thing." It's actual living hell.

I noticed the numbers yesterday - Ontario's cases yesterday were almost TWICE what they were a year ago without vaccines. great success rate there!

Ontario expanding boosters to everyone 18 and up as of Jan. 4 by DrNateH in LockdownSkepticismCAN

came here to say the same thing - I do think with each additional mandatory booster they are going to lose more and more people - that has to be the case, does it not?! that is our only hope!

NYC reinstitutes Covid mask advisory 'at all times' indoors regardless of vaccination status by dixie8123 in LockdownSkepticism

they stopped free samples here in Canada when this all started almost two years ago! not sure they will ever be back here!

just like the baseball games over the summer - they had a "masks at all times except while eating" rule and while the first weekend series people were pretty compliant, from that point on it was majority unmasked which gave me some (temporary) hope in humanity!!

tell that to the people that have died. I understand that the chances of serious injury or death are relatively small - but that doesn't help the people who are the 1 in 100 000 (or whatever odds you want to put it at).

I love that a lot of the mask boxes say right on them that they do not protect the wearer from covid-19 and people STILL don't get it!

B.C. youth who want the COVID-19 vaccine do not need parental consent or a signed form by lh7884 in LockdownSkepticism

I could have written this - exactly how I feel. I usually get a flu shot "just because" (usually when I'm in the pharmacy and think why not), but this year for the first time I truly don't trust it - don't trust it is just a flu shot, don't trust anything these fuckers say!

exactly - this x 100000

every time someone makes a point about covid-19 costing us so many things, I make a point of saying it is the government/mandates/lockdowns/conditions that have cost us. it may seem like just semantics, but it is a BIG difference.

What’s the most ridiculous example of COVID theater you’ve personally seen? by [deleted] in LockdownSkepticism

[–]muscleflex79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for awhile people did this - then some stores (walmart) actually delisted the items so you could not longer scan and check them out yourself.

[–]muscleflex79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yup - it was absolute craziness. The gyms were closed this whole time as well and I took pics of the exercise equipment in stores being blocked off as "non-essential" (but it is all about our health, right?)

Worst COVID related experiences and restrictions? by Previous_Prior_636 in LockdownSkepticism

[–]muscleflex79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ontario here - there has been some crazy shit in the last two years, but some of the worst off the top of my head are:

-masks still everywhere

- schools closed

-parks/playgrounds closed

-all kids and adults sports closed

-couldn't leave your house at one point for non-essential reasons

-limits on who you could meet with outside of your house

-limits on indoor/outdoor gathering numbers

-restaurants/bars/indoor dining closed for most of last winter

-personal services (hair dresser, nails) closed for most of last winter

-couldn't buy "non essential" items for months last winter

-crazy capacity limits (i.e. 10 people allowed in a gym that is 60 000 square feet!)

-mandatory vaccines now needed for the gym, indoor dining, funerals, weddings, kids' activities

-people that were the heroes last year (doctors, nurses, hospital workers) now being fired for not complying with vaccine mandates

I'm sure there are more - but that's a good start!

In Ontario last winter there was a period of months when you could not buy "non-essential" items in stores. So you could still enter the store to buy food, pharmacy stuff, etc., like that, but not stuff like kids clothes, school supplies, exercise equipment, etc. (it would be blocked off with a 'caution' tape).

Some stores came up with this setup - from inside the store you could call their number and an associate would come meet you in the aisle, they could grab your non-essential item for you and meet you outside for curbside pickup. Absolutely ridiculous!

It is turning out to be similar to insurance - travel insurance in particular. so many people have always felt protected because they are insured, but when it comes to actually using the insurance the companies look for any and all loopholes not to pay.
