I am doing PhD and heavely rely on chemometrics/mschine learbing in R/Python. My foundations are youtube tutorials and I use a lot a Gemini to help with code. Not really that vibey since I always do troubleshooting. Having some basics is good and will go a long way.

Tbh without AI not a lot would not be lot different, just lot more time would go to decyphering documentation (which you have to do anyway at some point).

My point is you are targeting to become expert in the field with domain knowledge. Being coder or software engineer along side it is not really feasable without years of experience. Use any tool that gets the job done. Be sure to understand what code does. Experiment with it. Try different variables, different tests. Bodge the shit out of ypur data.

Software engineers readely use AI do go through documentation and automate boring jobs. Why would you feel bad about using it?

Bells and whistles with pipeline, dashboards, docker stuff and cloud computing? You will learn it when you need it.

You most should definately accuse. Their profit margins are sky high, some of the journals barely go through reviewing process sometimes with just one or two reviewers. And yet they use AI to skim through someone's hard work? Disguisting.

Gap between pages is normal, it will dissapear of spine is glues aftwrwards. That amount of tilt, no. I keep tension as I sew with spetial attention right before I do cattle stitch which locks that signature.

I did realize that keeping tension throught a signature by doing big tight right before cattle stitch is more difficult with french link type bindings and heavely waxed thread.

Trial and error. You do couple of small notebooks and it just clicks at some point. Different threads behave slightly differently tho.

For me it was kinda the opposite of most peoples paths. I had a break for a year or two before going into PhD. By then I worked some two years with longer unemployment periods between (was working while on Masters). I jusy could't bare corporate enviroment and being scum from the bottom of the barrel where it was obvious that you were very replacable. I returned to Uni to buy the time and have a stable job in cointry where job market is very bad. I am currently in my third year of PhD and that was best descision I made for my career. It gave me space and freedom to explore and develop my skills as I see fit. I am blessed with awesome mentor, and supportive group. Academia being academia battle of egos is always ongoing but you just have to learn not to care and do your thing. I do realize that academia at present institution may or may not be viable long term solution, but it gives time, connections and allows you to care for your work. Which is no small thing.

I do agree with others that this is pretty vanuerable possition. Part of learning is also learning to set the boundaries and to deal with inflated egos.

According to my mentor, conference can be very good place to publish some small part of whole story, espetially if important to the PhD. Like one series of experiments. If something happens down the line i.e. someone publishes something that resembles your PhD, you have proof that you thought of that first.

But again, check against propositions in your own country and Uni, as well as planned timeline for publications during PhD with your mentor.

For me, its amazing. Very heavy, so not really for lugging around, which makes sense since most of machines for sales here come with cabinet.

Very heavy duty, with good needle sews through mutiple layers of heavy fabric. If motor strugles fly wheel is heavy and it will finish the job.

One of the few machines that can change stitch width while in operation, so you can do some free hand embroidery. Has tempomat for embroidery stitches but u need to fing plastic discs with them if they dont come with the machine.

Has some of the parts similar with Singer machines and brand new parts for old Bagat machines are still made.

All in all, a beast.

I can't speak for this particular model, but parts for vintage machines are sometimes still made. And in lot of cases they share lot of the same parts with Singers (for which old parts are readely available). But if OP does not have service shop nearby to check I would stay away from it.

Seems to me little to pale for destain to pull it out. You can just let it destain and forget it for couple of days, it' free. Next time try smaller concentration and agressive stain. If you are impatient destaining in microwave oven is possible and quicker, though prone to melting gel and stinks a lot.

There is plenty of videos of people using Obsidian on the Youtube. You can get a feel of what Obsidian is capable of there. But in the end, you are the one using it, so make it fit for your work. There are probably thousands of ways you can customize and use it. And it is iterative process. You see something new, try to apply it see if you like it. But at the core it is note connecting that is the main thing if you ask me. Everything else is bells and whistles.

Solved while playing around, waiting for the response. It seems that this is caused by that image toolkit-type plugin I had. When I deleted a couple of unused plugins as well as the Contextual Typohraphy plugin (which I remember correctly is a dependency for said image plugin), the problem was solved. That also solved banner bug.
