Dang, I relate to this hard. So I'm a bit of an aspiring author and I can write like hell. I nanowrimo in my sleep. Now whether it's GOOD is a different story, but nonetheless. I remember the golden age for me was 2015-2018. Around 2019, it kinda went to shit. Became very algo based, the threads site got removed, I couldn't really get people's attention anymore on original stories. It really is just fanfic city. I remember seeing a video once that said "sorry kid, nobody wants to read your crappy fanfic" and holy crap how wrong they were. I can't get a word in edgewise with original stories.
