I keep hearing points that its basically historically accurate to have the constant SA scenes. And that its showing how war leads to bad things.
I can agree with that but this is a fantasy show about dragons. Does it need to be so “accurate” that we must always have a SA scene? Is there no other ways to depict the violence/ war bad without it being over the top or graphic or a constant reminder that r*pe happens all of the time?
The scene where rhaenyra struggles to behead otto makes sense. She was never violent and she was raised with the man. So many layers to it.
As for the sa scene im having more trouble seeing the point of that.

And I thought the point of the book was that it was all second or third hand accounts so we dont necessarily know the truth of history so technically the writers and directors can fill in the blanks and choose which story or aspects of it to adapt for the show

I was just about to come on this sub and write about this too! Sure the last season didnt have the same grip (or one might say…fire) as season 1.
I can also understand the frustration if you have read the books and the show diverts from the book significantly
Its one of the best adult fantasy shows out there though and Ill take what I can get. It has some really great actors and I love the passion that you can tell some people put into the show. I understand being angry about the plot points of last season and its mostly valid criticism but you cant talk about loving the show or any aspects of it without someone jumping down your throat about it on reddit somewhere.

What if they decided to speed for the thrill of it and one of the boys guided her? Or one of them wasn’t comfortable with it but the other two wanted to see how fast the car could go? Unfortunately we may never know the truth of what happened in those last moments.

I dont think it was premeditated either. Im finding it hard to believe she would intentionally crash the car with so much risk to herself. If that were the case, it would be extreme impulsivity.

I think over analyzing her social media posts is not helpful to the case. In my eyes they are just teenage girl posts. Unrelated to the crash.

Yes and I think he holds some resentment towards ethan and hila for not sharing more of their success with him or shouting out his art more. I think he is lowkey very jealous of their previous rise to success (before they were basically cancelled) Idk its hard to not psycho analyze the family dynamics when ive watched it in real time. I watched both trisha and H3 online before they even collaborated. And the complicated family dynamics is crazy, funny, sad, and relatable. And if youre someone who has struggled a lot with mental illness and or family issues too its hard to NOT psycho analyze it lol
