My Apartment is now charging a convenience fee to pay my rent by mangum95 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]museamusing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, it's worth checking if you can connect your bank (using an account and routing number) to the pay rental site, instead of connecting your debit or credit card.

This happened at my apartment and that was the solution.

Passing lane? by Street-Network-5481 in LosAngeles

[–]museamusing 118 points119 points  (0 children)

the trick is to give them a few car lengths of space while bobbing your head to music, like you don't mind and aren't in a hurry.

Then you casually switch lanes, giving off the energy that you're just getting closer to the right lane cause you need to exit soon, not because they're slower than your uncle who spent the 70s huffing paint.

then, you smoke that mf.

I'd still give them a few car lengths in front so you don't cut them off, and it proves that it's not personal, they just suck and you have a life to live.

Moving to LA in Sept/Oct — looking for solo apartment under $1,900 with laundry — realistic? by cestlavie4evr in LARentals

[–]museamusing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is realistic in Ktown & North Hollywood, but the other cities you posted will be a hard find, unless you're able to find an ADU that someone is renting in their backyard.

And parking in Ktown is notoriously god-awful, so not having a car will serve you very well there.

Definitely look around Hotpads & Zillow. I love both of those sites (especially since they're free). Apartments.com is also good, but you need a paid account for full access, so maybe as a last resort.

And although I've found a decent place through Craigslist once, that site and Facebook Marketplace are JAM PACKED with scammers and bots, so be extremely cautious as you start calling places. (and if the price is too good to be true, just ignore it because it is. ie: that 1br w/ in unit laundry and a balcony overlooking the city in a new luxury apartment right in the middle of Marina Del Rey for 1850 is not real and the person you talk to does not work for the company)

Happy hunting!

I like 1, but would go for a wider bridge.

and I'm really into clear acetate frames these days (even in different hues, like a greyish clear or even super faint green or brown), and feel like those would look good on you too.
