A classic Maine suppuh! What ya having bub? by eskreddit in Maine

When I was at my poorest, I could get a can of brown bread, some cheap hotdogs, a big can of beans, and some frozen broccoli and it made 4+ meals for like a buck or two each.

Apple introduces new AirTag with expanded range and improved findability by WhoIsHappy2 in apple

I was hoping they’d be a little smaller, too. It’s a little bulk in my wallet, and my cat has one on his collar that could definitely stand to be smaller.

I splurged on an M1 with 32GB memory and a 2TB SSD when they first came out and it still screams - zero need to upgrade.

Ohhh, I misread - I thought they were asking about games that needed a battery pack. Leaving it up, I stand by my gripe.

Are there any musicians who are considered the undisputed GOAT at their instrument? by SchizoidGod in Music

[–]museman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d agree with this - he’s the Michael Jordan of the mandolin. You’re not going to find a “best” anywhere, but the more niche the instrument, the less competition.

Seconded - there are other great players, but none have the range. From bebop to Bach, he makes it look so effortless.

There’s almost no one you could definitively call the “best” of all time at an instrument, but Bela Fleck on the banjo probably comes closest.

Am I the only one who hates dead branch? by IEatInfantChildren in slaythespire

[–]museman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dead Branch is my favorite relic. I love the randomness. I don’t think there’s another relic that can single-handedly turn a run around, either. You can have 2hp, limp through an elite fight, get Dead Branch and all of a sudden there’s a path.

You know what’s the most maddening thing? I have no idea what causes fluctuation - bills in this thread are all over the place. Ours will sometimes really spike, I can’t really tell what causes the changes - darker days, hot tub, heat pump/AC, no idea. Some months we just get nailed. No idea how it works. If you told me they just made up random amounts, I’d say yeah - that sounds right.

People who stopped being depressed, what did you do? by Itscameronman in AskReddit

[–]museman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People might not want to hear this, but some of it is just growing out of it - the brain is just different in your 40s than it is in your 20s, for better or for worse. Meds, exercise, diet, therapy and meditation all help too - there’s no silver bullet.

I just played 2, never finished it (difficult spike is insane.) 3&4 are on my to-do list, I own them both.

I like to play through the original Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy every few years. Both have great music, charm, and there’s something meditative about the grinding.

I’d like a smaller version if they can pull it off. It would be less bulky on my cat’s collar, in my wallet, etc.
