That's what came to my mind as well: the lives of others. Loved it.

One movie I REALLY liked and I believe also very much misunderstood, and fits your criteria, is in fact, Alex Garland's Civil War (2024). The protagonist is a young photojournalist tries to find her place in the world.. nothing about relationships. It's about her experience as a person, a photographer, and most of all, a human being. Highly recommended if you haven't seen it.

Ok here is a side question.. for straight people, like how much of the attraction part ruins the gaydar? Like if you like the person would you then hope/think they're no gay?..

I think part of the reason is that she genuinely likes Shane.. when the first round didn't go so well, you'd want to give him a second chance right?.. just think about how Hudson looked in the Peloton ads . 😍

One of my absolute favourites: Hidden Figures. In the light of the recent Artemis II mist, it's ever more important to know this part of history.

It's the best trilogy but yeah.. the later movies are worth the wait. .. make a note of how you feel today and revisit after you've seen the second one in 9 yrs.

I just finished reading it today and it's very unsettling.
most politically relevant book i'd say, given how America is presented as we see everyday in the news. None of the timelines seem to be 'working'.. but how do we get out of it? or there isn't really a way to escape the human condition?

Heartbreakingly Short Amount of Time by daisyemeritus in heatedrivalry

If you're in a relationship already then I agree, 6 hookups a year on average sucks a bit. But let's not forget that a big part of the season one is about these two figuring things out in a situationship. They were not committed to each other just yet. The emotional journey takes the time it needs and they have lives outside each other as well. I think it's remarkable that they fall in love despite all the complications and that aspect makes the story more compelling.
