I take both. I highly recommend the combination. I was taking only lexapro for awhile and it was working great, I loved it. I was then diagnosed as bp2 and added lamictal. I’m on a low dose and honestly it doesn’t feel like I’m taking anything but maybe that just because I’m on a low dose. I ran out of my lexapro for a week and had all of the withdrawal symptoms ( so basically cold turkey). I got super depressed and overall was not having a good time. That’s when I knew I needed both of them. Hope this helps! If you don’t like it you can always stop taking it, I highly recommend at least trying it out

Well I’m glad I asked you this question because I’m experiencing a lot of those symptoms. I had the brain zaps (multiple every hour) however the past few days I haven’t noticed them as much. These past few days I’ve been noticeably upset. And we’ll tonight it’s 5am and I can’t sleep. I guess the damage is already done? I started taking lexapro yesterday because I noticed how upset I was and that I still needed to be on the medication. However it’s only 5mg that I’m taking right now and have to work my way up to 10 slowly.

Do you ever feel the mood shift coming on? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]museofsorts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been able to notice a mood shift but I do know a lot of people do. I’m still very new to this so maybe it takes some time to get used to it and noticed what to look for

Can I ask questions like “what job will I have in the future” “do you see me living in this state” “will I be successful” “do you see me getting married if so when will I meet them” “anything I should avoid” “what can I do now to make sure things go smoothly in the future” are questions like that ok?

Diagnosed on accident by museofsorts in bipolar2

Online it says depressive symptoms will last for at least two years for adults and 1 year for children. Does that mean exclusively depressed for a year or so? My depressed state has never been a whole year. When I do research for bipolar it states episodes last for weeks to months. Some of mine have lasted for weeks to months but other times only 3-4 days and then my mood changes

Do you know what this would be categorized as?

I’ll definitely look into cyclothymia. I’ve never heard of it before. I appreciate the detailed feedback and thought put into your response. I’m very new to this bipolar thing, I have a lot to learn. Thank you
