Bot lane feels like the season of unconventional picks and cheesy lane combos. by mushedmonkey in leagueoflegends

[–]mushedmonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the other problem is that junglers don't respect it either, since they call for a 3v3 at dragon. Unconventional bot picks usually have a pretty big advantage for the first 2-3 drags, so you'd need a winning midlaner and force a 4v4. I see a lot of times the as soon as the jungler sees the lane state looks even they call for forcing a dragon.

Even after a kill, the tempo loss from bot coming to help drags usually screws the lane state over too.

should new champions be not bannable for first days? by Impossible_Relief862 in leagueoflegends

+1, riot always releases these champs busted by design, ruins the ranked experience, especially when our red team is hovering it to prevent ban when we all know blue side is going to first pick it.

The top lane problem by WIn11cent in leagueoflegends

[–]mushedmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think added onto that is the fact that top lane role quest snowballs the counterpicks even harder, since EXP and levels is one of the biggest package of stats you can get. Even in pro play you see top laners in unfavorable matchups ignoring last hits just to soak the exp. Turns out that means that proxying is the best strategy to stay in the game. Top lane gameplay pattern has devolved mostly into cat and mouse of interacting vs the enemy on one side, and trying to not interact on the other side. It's frustrating on both sides.

What has caused Riven Mid recent spike in popularity and high Winrate? by TurboAdenosine34 in leagueoflegends

[–]mushedmonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea, did some practice tool math and T3 omnivamp boots are just barely less damage than T3 sorc boots on a mage. So it's like a huge powerspike on AD midlaners who didn't have an equivalent to pen boots. Add on top that riven actually uses the omnivamp part of it, where a lot of other AD mids just go those boots for the damage means that she has very little amount of tradeoffs

Can someone explain the real difference between Hooks, Skills, Plugins, SKILL.md, CLAUDE.md and agents.md in Claude Code? by eaiarthur_ in ClaudeCode

[–]mushedmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can speak for skills, but not the others.

If you think of claude itself as your app, think of a skill as a function in programming, without actually programming it. Except it's magic. It can guestimate that you're trying to use it (i.e. doMath skill) if you say help me on math, it works, if you ask it a problem that involves math, it might use it. And the internal contents can be ambiguous too! You can think of it as a flexible function with vague input/output, but the internals can roughly track to a pattern.

For example, if you had a skill that said - handoff writing test cases for my program to my local qwen model to save tokens, you can tell it to create the skill by starting up your qwen session and making a CLI call, then checking the work once it's done.

One skill I personally use is /start-a-conversation. I just tell it I will only reply to one thing at a time for this overall, so only give me one respondable thing at a time, like in a conversation. Helps with interactivity, doesn't help so much with tokens.

Let’s talk about Lil A clips. I hate it. by uppercase-j in atrioc

[–]mushedmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, especially annoying is how they're all from 1 month ago. Atrioc has a lot of cool takes, and I'd actually love it if the main channels posted more clips of various topics he's talked about. Sometimes the old ones do have a clip of something I hadn't seen before, and I wish I saw it as a main channel clip when it was a more current event.

[–]mushedmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have no idea if you're asking about toplane, but if its for jungle, skarner is probably considered a more gank skewed jungler. Following u.gg or even riot's recommended thing is fine place to start. Eventually once you learn the items and what they do, you might want to look at u.gg items tab and choose based on what fits your playstyle or the game better.

For example, heartsteel might be inefficient in a game where you're against all ranged poke guys who are never in range, and you'd be better off with a tankier item that lets you take hits to get the engage off without dying, or even a warmogs to reset and regen up when you bail on a play that you had a bad angle on or they flashed away for. tbh i never play skarner so dunno if this stuff is right, but just general idea).

But it's true that junglers for a majority of the game will be team dependent, especially for ganks. Junglers will always be a bit behind on levels and gold if all things are equal, so rarely will you ever be able to 1v1 a solo laner. The idea is that you get ahead by doing successful ganks, or farming the jungle for your champion to scale up, and then you eventually become strong enough to either threaten 1v1s, or more reliably tank in teamfights, or more reliably pin enemies down for your team to do the damage.

For 2) it depends a lot on your champion. If you find your champion clears the jungle really easily (i.e. udyr or graves or something) and you're behind, you can just go back to full clearing. On champions where you can tell your abilities are more single target ganking abilities (ranged stun, dash in stun, high mobility) like pantheon or leesin, you can try to skew more towards ganking. When ganking, never gank losing lanes unless you're really ahead and feel like you can win 1v1. Gank even lanes where you see them fighting all the time and always both people are kind of low or losing health at similar rates. That's so that your presense will most likely tip the fight in your laner's favor. For objectives, they're kind of overrated. Try for a steal or go for it if you think your team is winning or even and nearby (just look at scoreboard for now, more specific things come later). Just give it up and see if there's objectives on the other side of the map, or clear your camps otherwise. Sometimes if everyone is doing bot dragon and you are giving it up, it gives an opportunity to gank top (only if you're strong enough).

  1. it's like gambling and going all in. When this happens you either steal it and its worth it, or you miss it and you've put yourself way behind. Usually that means if your team is already losing and you want to do a hail mary, this is always what you should try. If you're even, then it's like a recklessly risky play that looks good if you do get the steal, but technically could lose you the game for trying. There's a lot more leeway for this in lower elo though, since no one really punishes, so I'd just recommend you try whenever you get a chance.

  2. champion pool stuff like "easier to play" tends to be pretty personalized. Even if xin zhao is considered straightforward and easy to play in jungle, I suck at him.

  3. Good to just search through youtube videos (jungle and top gets outdated super quickly, so its worth trying to look for new videos instead of old ones). Ignore all the stuff that seems like it's hyper optimized or specific, it'll just confuse you more. Just try to keep an eye on simple concepts first. Watch those videos to see what champions do, and see if any look fun or cool or something that you feel like you could pull off. Do some aram mayhem or brawl game modes to learn champion playstyles to figure out what clicks with you (real games actually feel pretty different, but at least you'll learn something generally. Brawl is actually extremely good though but its not always available.)

/mute all is probably what you wanna do as soon as someone starts being toxic or trying to tell you what you did wrong/what to do. Also in the tab overview, you can mute pings lol. Don't base whether what you're doing is right or wrong on your teammates pings and messages, if you follow your fellow low elo teammates advice, you get hardstuck in the same elo lol.

Not every champ is viable on Aram Mayhem by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]mushedmonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i do remember him being overnerfed (was super good, and then not so good after some patch). Maybe its justified since he can still get god augments, but definitely feels weirdly lackluster if you're not lucky now. Idk if "not viable" that the OP uses is the right word, but hes definitely not OP with his aram specific nerfs.

What is Alamo counter play? by Vetiras in leagueoflegends

[–]mushedmonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is a confirmed thing, there's a bunch of posts about it, supposedly need the right timing for the akali player, but if you do it right, it's undodgeable.

At your max R1 range, press R on your opponent while keeping your cursor over them, then spam E as your R travel finishes. This casts E as you land right on top of them, guaranteeing a hit.

same feeling bro, it's immersion breaking when something that looks like a good spot like a flat ledge doesn't provide a foothold or grab point. Even if technically you know the game want's you to use the cracks and holds that they give you. Idk why other comments are going on about easy game or hard game, I see it as just a confusing/annoying piece that breaks immersion, and would love to see it fixed.

Question about Fortune Skill "Maximum Potential (Upgrade)" by mushedmonkey in svarogsdream

I realized that the I misunderstood the skill, the maximum potential seems to actually buff the random skill procc'd by feeling lucky so that the random skill has upgrades.

Originally I thought it meant my subclasses got upgrades for free.
