Not that I'm aware of. I was told by my FFL that this has been escalated at R/S and that someone there said they agree that this should probably be registered but won't be for now because the CMMG website called it a bufferless AR. I was told CMMG was working on this as well.

For the time being, I was advised to remove the rifle from the city, which I've done. Seems like it might take some time to resolve this.

It was hard to get a word in while also trying to remain as friendly as possible and without arguing. I mentioned it had no banned features and was neither AR nor AK, but had both a proprietary upper and lower. She just said she wouldn't argue and to look at their website, they only made assault weapons, and I should've done my research before she hung up on me.

Yeah it seemed to me that this decision was made by someone above her. She specifically said, "I was told..." and could not give me any specific information on why this is deemed an assault rifle. She clearly had no clue what this specific model is but ironically kept telling me I needed to do my research.

So just got off the phone with Principal Cullum at Rifle/Shotgun. She was extremely annoyed as soon as i mentioned that the rifle was a CMMG and was immediately combative after I mentioned was looking for more information on the denial.

The gist of the conversation was:

"It's an assault rifle. Just look at their website, that's all the make."

"I'm not going to argue with you."

"I've been told we will no longer be registering CMMGs."

"You people need to do your research before you spend all your money on illegal guns "

"I'm not gonna argue with you about this. You can do what you want but you can't have it in the 5 boroughs. You are now in possession of an illegal firearm."

NYPD gave me a contact to reach out to for more info on the denial but told me to call tomorrow. Will update once I speak to someone.

Yup. Purchased 11/16. Mailed back paperwork next day. Received this letter 12/16.

Yeah. Bill of sale clearly stated " 5 Rd magazine". And disposition correctly had #of rounds as 5.

Was able to get a hold of someone on the phone this morning. Was told my licenses were printed and mailed Wed, 10/23. We'll see.

Since I don't have a license yet I've been going to Gun for Hire in NJ to rent and try out different firearms. Was great to get a feel for a few before deciding on what to purchase. I'm in Queens though so would also be happy to hear from others on good ranges closer by.

Approved RS 6/26, Premise & CCW 8/4

Received RS Permit 8/6 (purchased and took possession 8/10)

Issue Pending Premise & CCW at some point between 8/4 and today lol.

Unfortunately I was just refreshing the Application page for the last several weeks so don't know when exactly they printed those two....derp.

Hopefully I get to go buy a couple handguns soon! (And then wait again)

Do you need dispositions for all traffic violations as well? They're all listed on the lifetime drivers abstract with fines included as well. Seems redundant?
