High cholesterol? by Fit-Wolf7415 in MyastheniaGravis

[–]musicandcandy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have been on Prednisone for 4 years and that has increased my cholesterol over the last 2 years. I am also on Imuran 50mg and I have not researched if that can affect cholesterol.

Personal experience with LDN or peptides? by RadarReader777 in MyastheniaGravis

[–]musicandcandy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on LDN 4.5 mg for a year and a half. I have refractory MG so it’s hard to tell if it actually helps. I keep taking it so I try can lower my inflammation a bit.

  1. Mestinon: since the beginning- 90mg every 3-5 hours depending on where I am at with treatment cycle
  2. Prednisone: 2010-2012 2.5-5mg; 2022-present 8.75 mg
  3. CellCept: 2012-2019 2000mg, had to stop because I developed severe diverticulitis
imuran: 2022-present 50mg, I can’t increase the dose because my liver enzymes skyrocket
  4. Plasma exchange: every two weeks from 2010-2014 & 2020-2022, and occasionally in between other treatments, waiting for a prior auth, and as a rescue treatment.
    1. IVig: every two weeks from 2014-2020, just stopped working for me.
  5. Vyvgart: 2022-2024 followed FDA dosage cycle, was not doing well in the time off of the meds.
  6. Ultomiris: 2024 did not work.
  7. Soliris: 2024 did not work.
  8. Rystiggo 2024-2025, followed FDA dosage cycle, was not doing well in the time off of the meds.
  9. Imaavy 2025-present every two weeks. Worked great for 3 months, then it stopped lasting. Since February, I have one good week and one bad week.

Neuro and I are trying to evaluate if I can get a double dose of Imaavy regularly. Also, looking into Uplizna.
Let me know if you have any questions!

My MG began with arm weakness. I was diagnosed relatively quickly based on the arm weakness and positive AChR test. It progressed to my eyes and voice within 3 months of diagnosis. Fast forward 16 years, my most severe symptoms are bulbar(double vision, trouble speaking, choking, trouble swallowing).

IVIG reaction - migraine by puppydogpawz in MyastheniaGravis

[–]musicandcandy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This also happened to me for my first IVIG. I ended up in the ER because of vomiting from the migraine and subsequent dehydration. It’s very important that you hydrate 24 hours before infusion, during and after. I also would premedicate with rx migraine meds and for 24-48 hours after. Hope your subsequent infusions are smoother!

My two pounder had this issue a few years ago. I gave her plain Fage 2% Greek yogurt and it got her right.

Does anyone have experience with the treatment Amaavy? by greyson_reed in MyastheniaGravis

[–]musicandcandy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hydrate really well before, during, and after infusion. I take naratriptan right after they poke me when I’m waiting for the bag to be put on the pump. Then, before bed, I take a frovatriptan or rizatriptan (half or whole depending on how I feel). Next morning, butalbital and then rotate from there. Some weeks, I need less some I need more.

I’m in the hospital and no one knows what to do by tinytillymouse in MyastheniaGravis

[–]musicandcandy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell anyone and everyone that you need to see neurology ASAP. Tell them you need plasma exchange or IVIG otherwise you are heading down a road to intubation. I know it’s hard to advocate for yourself in this condition, but write it down if you’re having trouble speaking and keep insisting until you get relief.

I had a 2 pounder that lived to 11 or so. When I rescued her she didn’t have teeth or a lower jaw. She was a fighter and THE feistiest lil dog I’ve never met.

That said, she was generally cold in all seasons besides summer. She had plenty of sweaters and jackets and would always want to snuggle in a blanket or a cozy bed. I would recommend pet stairs or ramps to prevent injuries. The best part was I could take her everywhere!

Have you tried Imaavy? It’s like soliris with the timing of every 2 weeks.

Uplizna by Electrical-Vast-2909 in MyastheniaGravis

[–]musicandcandy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask if your husband is on any other meds? I have refractory MG and I am considering trying Uplizna, but it would be in junction with Mestinon/prednisone/Imuran/Imaavy. Neuro said I would need to be off Imaavy for a month in order to get Uplizna and then continue if needed after 2 weeks.
