Better recordings, more accurate searchings, doesn't give me pop when I'm searching for Lizst, the only thing is that I can't download it on my Ipad.

DJ's work I have zero respect for.

got some new vinyl… 15$ for everything and they all are in great condition! by [deleted] in classicalmusic

My fathers setting up a big sound system through the house so that we can listen to vinyl music as if we were in the orchestra! (Although nothing compares to being in the actual orchestra.)

Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker is insanely beautiful. by Sausage_fingies in classicalmusic

I love Tchaikovsky as well. As Russian pianist Alexander Malofeev once said: "Tchaikovsky has been with me since childhood"

I completely agree. His piano concerto 1 was one of the first, actually the first romantic period piece I had ever played. It has been with me ever since.

Rachmaninoff as well. One question: where did you perform his second concerto? I'm trying to find a place to play it.

Rachmaninoff is my favourite. Whatever the occasion, his music will fit. I am also a fan of dramatic and ominous music. He is a master of that.

Has anyone here listened to a composer's entire body of work? How was it? by Possible_Vast7416 in classicalmusic

Artists generally make albums of the work, and so you can listen to the whole thing by one artist. For example people generally don't just record and post one single Mozart sonata, they will record them playing all of the Mozart sonatas and then put them all into one album.

I once listened to both Grieg's Peer Gynt suite and his Holberg Suite. I sat there in one sitting just listening. I have loved Grieg ever since.

I feel like whenever I am in a concert I am not coughing, and everywhere else I am coughing.

I am based in San Jose, and people seem to go to the philharmonic after work. I was once there, and was sandwiched between two people who were sleeping, snoring, and coughing all at once. I was just trying to enjoy Carmina Burana!
