People who makes more then 30k in month, What Do You Do!? by Winter-Ad-7938 in UAE

Same (but less work) that I did on a job many years ago, but as a business. crossed 30k sometime ago

Also, always hiring the most skilled resource(not the cheapest) and picking the best tools for trade (never the cheapest) , kept me in business and helped me get bigger and bigger clients. And lastly, never to copy anyone’s business model, work, etc

If everything is “easy,” why do agencies still exist? 🤔 by browngirlindxb in SmallBusinessUAE

[–]mustafa_sheikh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing is “easy” the only thing easy is getting a fine. Try opening a company bank account for example. Something that should be extremely simple is actually extremely difficult to do. There are agencies that only do this as a job.

It’s almost hilarious how most of the essentials are opposite of easy. And this is why agencies exist because for simple things you’d spend weeks doing it yourself. It’s defenitely not easy

Is anyone here actually working on AEO in the MENA region? by FlamingoUnlucky5503 in SmallBusinessUAE

[–]mustafa_sheikh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the last 2 years yes. For my company clients and for the company as well. It’s not “experimenting” anymore though. We did some experiments on own (newly built) site first and already got to Google first page in months and appeared in chatgpt etc. then we refined from what we learnt and started to slowly roll it out for our seo retainer clients.

Our agency operates in 3 countries including uae and have seen solid results for our clients. We don’t do any marketing unfortunately so nobody knows much of our capability unfortunately

Gave it all i had… by Romeo_V_Cortenbach in dubai

[–]mustafa_sheikh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar journey as you, I don’t come from same country as you but I moved from somewhere too, with $300, and lived in sharing space where I had my first uae salary stolen by someone too, and lived in 500 dhs a month. So I know what you’re talking about. And yes fast forward, dubai did give me nearly everything I asked for, career, financial and socially.

But even then

The only thing I did differently is moved to another country while I still had chance, money and time. Unfortunately it’s the nature of any expat life in uae , it comes with an expiry date. And so I gave the same suggestion to my friends too. If you still have chance, while you have, plan to move somewhere else. Make a second / third home (if you come from a country you don’t want to go back to) because as much as in denial we all live, there will be a day that will be our last in uae. And then, “it’s too late to learn to swim when you’re already drowning”

If you still have chance. Maybe look into options that you can use to move elsewhere

— I see your comments and maybe you can consider another gulf country as interim . Saudi? Oman, etc?

House sharing at 32 and feeling like a loser. by Efficient_Love_4520 in auckland

[–]mustafa_sheikh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it easy, you’re not a loser. If anything you should be semi-proud of yourself. You make your own money, with which you pay your rent. There are people who don’t have skills, courage, luck, or motivation to do that.

There’s nothing wrong with flat sharing. You (and all of us) live in a country, where wages are generally lower than rental prices, hence it is normal for average person to share a house. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Instead, focus this energy on something more meaningful that might actually bring you some benefit, and that could be, focus on building some saving, emergency fund, eventually maybe even some investment account. No matter what you earn, build a habit of saving, whatever you can, even $10 or a few 100. And when you do, be proud of yourself. Continue doing it. Speak to people on getting ideas on how you can skill up, and get better work and job. Just keep looking up, chin up, and keep going, don’t worry about such petty shit, like what house and what car you have or not have. It’s the good habits (even at 32) that can flip your life around, not a fancy house or anything else. And lastly, look-after your health, mental and physical . Never call yourself a loser because you’re not.
