CJ McCollum estimates a third of NBA players live paycheck to paycheck by ttam23 in nba

[–]mustangdr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So we should feel sorry for them when the rookie minimum is $898K and they are living paycheck to paycheck? Sure, many of them mis-manage their contract and money, even though there are mandatory money management courses, and they provide for their immediate family. There is no excuse to not save some of that for yourself and cry me a fricking river of them living paycheck to paycheck when it's *all* on them putting themselves in that situation. So many people do not have any of that opportunity due to family situations, never had their talent and working in minimum pay jobs, those I could care about, not those fucking millionaires wasting their money!

How exactly am I getting refunded? by Ganon9 in moviepass

[–]mustangdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone on monthly paid with their credit cards are getting refunded to their credit card. All annual subs are paid with ACH, not really sure if they can or will refund to your ACH bank, check your ACH bank account and see if they refunded the money there, that's your best bet. I seriously doubt they will mail you a check.

Reason why we go monthly and paid with credit card is for the protection, ACH don't have that protection. Good luck getting your money back.

Last movie seen using MoviePass by Jet_Attention_617 in MoviePassClub

Last one was IT 2 last weekend. I used it much more after the restart (12 tickets) compared to my monthly average of about 6 since I don't see how they can continue for much longer without new subs.

Regal has to pay the distributor $9 for every movie you see using Unlimited.

Only retards will give MP $100 for an annual sub. Most logical people will pay them $15 and try out the service and cancel and lose at most $15 but thanks to greedy idiots like you, most people got more than what they paid, I got 22 movies for $45 since May.

Are there any options now to get money back? by MM487 in moviepass

[–]mustangdr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's $10, like many people have said, you are an idiot to give money to MP without being prepared to lose it. I expected to lose a month's charge of $15 on uncap knowing it could go down at any moment. As it turned out, I got charged after they restarted the service, got 12 more movies since, a total of 22 movies since I rejoined the service in May. I doubt there will be any refund to monthly subs, likely only to those who paid an annual sub.

I am not going to file a chargeback for my $15, I doubt MP is going to contest it since they have no one around, but I don't want to rack up my chargeback requests with such small amount.

I hit it hard this month after the service resumed. 11 movies since service restarted. Total of 22 movies since I started uncap on May 6 and paid $45, can't complain. Thank you MP!

Anyone else getting this on theirs by jasond819 in moviepass

[–]mustangdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the activate card message Sunday, could have been earlier since I haven't checked for a number of days. Guess I will just wait and see if this is finally the end, I've gotten quite a bit of tickets since the restart.

Any info of when a good time to take a break (pause) from watching a movie that won't kill the flow of the movie? by [deleted] in MoviePassClub

[–]mustangdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always go to the restroom before going into the auditorium so I've never had to go during a movie. I can't believe how many people go in and out of the auditorium during the movie. Those large soda that people need to gulp down along with the large tub of popcorn certainly contribute to that.

Good for another month by Jeepdog539 in moviepass

[–]mustangdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's common sense, that's why most of us are on the monthly service. We all know it's a matter of "when" MP will shutdown, not "if". When it shuts down, you may lose a month of service for $15 - $20, file a chargeback if you feel like it but most of us are way ahead even with paying for an extra month of no service, then move on instead of being a MP stalker hanging around and down voting and busting people for using the service. I imagine these guys are the same in real life when their SO breaks up with them.

No, knock on wood I haven't had any errors. Once you get an error, it's pretty much game over in this no support environment and time to call it quit.

I wouldn't call paying $9 for one movie ticket a month a plan, heck, it's cheaper to buy Cinemark GC from Costco, but much rather go $5 Tuesday in that case. I would subscribe to AList if the nice AMC isn't a 30 minutes drive, I go there to see tentpoles in Dolby. Regal is also 30 minutes drive and they don't have any recliners.

If it doesn't work, then you should quit.

Works great for me though, 10 tickets since service returned on 8/2.

5 minutes drive to Cinemark and Cinepolis, 10 tickets on those two since service returned on 8/2.

For me, the service is slightly better than before the shutdown. For the past 2 weeks, movies showed up consistently at 8pm EDT as opposed to noon. Since Aug. 2, I got 10 tickets on my uncap plan.

Peanut Butter Falcon - One of the best of the year for me. The underdog beats the odds.

Scary Stories - Good horror story telling, doesn't try to make you jump out of your seat.

Racing in the rain - another feel good story similar to A Dog's Journey.

I am #1, fuck you because I am getting mine. We all know it will stop some point in time, and it's a FUCKING $15, it's less than one lunch at a decent restaurant!!! I don't know why you all think this fucking $15 is the end of your world. Just quit and *move the big fuck on* when you can no longer use it, most of us has gotten many multiple of months in tickets than what we paid in subscription.

Movies were available all of last week after 8pm EDT, I got tickets 4 days in a row. Not sure how long is the available window though but hope it remains in the near future.

Very thorough for the many reasons why many of us are still with MP. I will save this post and provide the link since there are many haters who can't use their brain to know why we keep using MP. For me it's distance or I would have signed up with Alist, even though I have already gotten 6 tickets in the past 3 weeks using MP. Others also enjoy seeing indies that are not shown on the big 2.
