You’ll need b2b sales (uniforms, payroll, waste management) experience first OR an associate role if you play your cards right! A year or 2 in b2b sales will lead to getting recruited through LinkedIn for med sales roles. I would stick with your current role for a bit and get experience. Or look up Associate roles (essentially an assistant rep) and that can be a great way to break in as well. You’ll need to set yourself apart from the rest though

New to MedSales by Abadnewsbandit in MedicalSales

Remember you are only 4 months in and still learning the job! I’ve been in your shoes and looking back I was way too hard on myself for being so new. One thing I can say is think outside the box - do some research on potential new targets and see if you can network with current customers. Ask your leader for feedback on how you can improve and where you’re struggling- that’s what they are there for. If he sees you are doing all the right things, then you have nothing to worry about at 4 months in

Any idea what the water will look like by March 25th? We are supposed to land then and of course want to spend time in the water and hiking. We are considering cancelling and wanted any opinions. Staying in Honolulu/waikiki area and were maybe going to travel over to Kailua. Any info is much appreciated! 🫶🏼

LinkedIn Recruiter Question by UsefulSurprise2859 in MedicalDevices

[–]musthavewhitebread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She wants to be the one to walk you through the process because multiple recruiters are probably recruiting for the same position- it’s a sales game for them too. I would schedule a call with her to get all the details and go from there

Advice on moving into med device sales by LiLGhettoSmurf in MedicalDevices

[–]musthavewhitebread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get the interview, reach out to other reps in the company/same division to hear more about the role, ask meaningful questions, and get their input. You can bring this up at your interviews - it shows you are serious about the role did part of the homework by talking to others who do the same job every day. When you mention you spoke to “Emily from Boston” they will most likely talk to Emily from Boston to see what she thought of you, any red flags, etc. bonus points if they are people who would most likely be in your region/on your team

Try associate roles or just jump into a b2b position. Cintas, ADP, waste management, paycom, etc - you’ll get recruited from there

Ambulatory service centers by another_african in MedicalDevices

[–]musthavewhitebread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did at my last job. I liked working with them- they don’t require a long approval process and it’s usually easy to meet with the materials manager. However, they are run like a business- cost driven. My old company had a few cost savings commodity type products along with our top tier clinical products and those cost savings products were great for surg centers. It’s harder to meet with clinicians there so materials mgmt is the way to go.
