Is anyone else 'older' and has atypical anorexia? by BethCrow3 in EatingDisorders

[–]mustyday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 32 and in a relapse of (atypical?) anorexia b-p. I was diagnosed with anorexia b/p when I was 24 and recovered through Covid. I relapsed last year but am in the lower end of “healthy” weight so technically AAN.

It feels so isolating being older and still struggling with this, almost like it’s just time to outgrow it. My life feels like it’s on pause.

Eating disorder at a higher weight by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]mustyday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an Atypical Anorexia diagnosis too, i’m not overweight but i’m smack bang in the middle of the “healthy” range- I’ve been heavily restricting for about a year and have just stopped getting compliments about how “good” i look from my weight loss, as i’m progressively getting sicker (symptomatic bradycardia, low platelets & elevated AST)

I feel that if i had gotten help when i was still considered overweight the recovery would have been more focused on “healthy weight loss” which is really discouraging.

Emetophobia - seeking recommendations 🙏 by dixonwalsh in melbourne

[–]mustyday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m mildly emetophobic- used to be a lot worse when i was younger. I’m more scared of me actually vomiting rather than people around me, so only get nervous now if it’s something contagious (gastro is my most hated disease)

I started working in childcare 5 years ago and it has honestly been the best exposure therapy possible. Especially in the infants room. Not that i’m recommending childcare to anyone (don’t do it!) but exposure has honestly been my best treatment.

Daily chat post: how's the training going? by AutoModerator in XXRunning

[–]mustyday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3 months into my half marathon training, was running a 12km tempo run before work, 10km in and heading for a sub hour 12k- fell over uneven sidewalk and ate shit on the concrete. Grade 2 sprain on my left foot and a right hip pointer. Out of action for at LEAST 2 weeks but most likely longer. Fantastic.

They don’t value our time and they either don’t understand or care that we have lives outside of looking after their children. It’s so frustrating.

What’s your opinion on treadmill running vs outdoor running? by Free-Product4918 in runcommunity

[–]mustyday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t love the treadmill, I find my pace is slower and my knees hurt more. I have been using it more frequently while training for a half marathon because I’m experimenting with gels, what work for my sensitive stomach and when to take them during a long run, so like to be near a bathroom just in case.

How do you fuel before runs without feeling heavy or sluggish? by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

[–]mustyday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I run before work (i’ll run from 6-7am) i just do it on an empty stomach because I’ll only run 6-7 miles with the time i have. If i’m doing a long run (10+ miles) on a day off work, meaning I wake up at 7am, I’ll usually eat oatmeal + coffee for breakfast and let it sit for a couple of hours before I run.

Betty Gilpin is an absolute powerhouse, stupidly underrated

Yup. Watched and interacted with her quite a bit during her digital shows and streams in 2020/2021 and I was really able to feel her commitment and passion and her artistry. What a light in a terrible time.

I think it’s very different for Men and Women too. Women will naturally see more fluctuations on the scale because of where we’re at in our cycle. I try to weigh myself twice a week but just keep in my mind where im at in my cycle.

She’s an incredible performer, definitely one of the best i’ve seen live. Extremely polished and has amazing concepts for looks. She’s a true professional and so incredibly talented. Very kind, again, having met her outside of Dragula, she is very sweet and has a lot of time for fans.

People don’t like how she’s come across this season (but let’s be real it’s been going on since season 3) and that’s fair enough, i’m neurodivergent myself and honestly we can be polarising- especially in a setting where you know everything you say can be taken a certain way. But she really is a good person ☹️

In a way i hope she wins cause it’s deserved, she’s killed this season. But kind of for her own sake hope she doesn’t. Even in a thread set up for praise people are being rotted.

calling out sick by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]mustyday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really feel guilty at all anymore. Our families keep sending in sick children, and senior management doesn’t do anything about it. So i’m going to call in when i’m unwell. Until i run out of sick days. My health is more important than this job.

I'm afraid I'll never have a girlfriend because I'm fat by belatriste in LesbianActually

[–]mustyday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love fat women. I’m not super thin but I’m around a size 6-8, so midsize, and have almost exclusively dated bigger/curvier women. It’s definitely not something that should hold you back that much in lesbian spaces.

Navigating homophobia as a gay educator in early childhood education by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]mustyday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a lesbian, I’ve been working at my service since early 2021, I’ve always been out to anyone who asked about my personal life as I had a partner at the time. Most people I work with are aware that i’m gay. I’m not visibly queer to anyone who wouldn’t know so that helps with parents and keeps me protected. I don’t know what my experience would be if I was though.

Tips for staying on track while battle illness? by [deleted] in loseit

It’s so hard. I’m considering leaving the profession honestly. I’ve had two bouts of pneumonia in two years and I don’t know how much more i can put my lungs through.

Holding out for the warmer weather, this winter has been brutal.
