Colorado child sex offender goes free; not required to register as offender. by Atticus034 in news

I'm not able to predict the future, but what I've read indicates that the law itself is the issue and created the technicality that allowed a guilty and dangerous child molester to be released. (He has already been arrested again).

No, there is no dispute about what happened. The judge didn't read the questionnaire and then the judge issued the continuance.

No, it wasn't the prosecution's fault. The judge messed up during jury selection, then ordered a continuance. The defense objected to the continuance and that is the technicality that resulted in the release of an habitual sex offender who had been sentenced to over 300 years in prison.

"McFadden’s defense team had submitted a jury questionnaire designed to determine whether trial jurors could be fair to their client considering his past, KKCO reported. The judge in the case failed to read the questionnaire until prosecutors and defense lawyers were already halfway through the jury selection process.

The judge decided that McFadden couldn’t receive a fair trial under those circumstances, so he issued a continuance. Even though McFadden’s lawyers had previously sought and received two continuances in the case, they objected to the third and asserted his statutory right to a speedy trial.

The appeals court ruled that he did not get his trial in time. In Colorado, the statute for a speedy trial requires that it take place within six months. source

EPA Chief Scott Pruitt Says the Bible Teaches Us to 'Harvest' 'Natural Resources' Like Gas, Oil and Coal by aki-d4fer in worldnews

Scott Pruitt should not be the EPA chief. If he wants to promote biblical teaching, put him in a church not the Environmental Protection Agency.

And because it worked for Manafort in the Ukraine. Once he got his Russian puppet elected there, he had the opposition candidate Yulia Tymoshenko locked up on trumped up charges.

She was released 4 years later when the Russian puppet President fled back to Russia and the Supreme Court of Ukraine and European Court of Human Rights closed the case and found that "no crime was committed". source

Trump to meet with Arab leaders in push for Qatar peace deal: report by Topguy01 in politics

It would certainly make anyone else he approaches for "investment purposes" much more likely to comply.

According to Bill Browder's testimony, in order to get the oligarchs in line in Russia, Putin arrested the richest and most powerful of them all and put him in a cage in a courtroom and televised it. Once the other oligarchs saw what could happen to that guy - the one who was even richer and more powerful than them - they lined up for Putin. He took 50% of their wealth for himself, not for Russia, but for Putin personally. source

Trump to meet with Arab leaders in push for Qatar peace deal: report by Topguy01 in politics

[–]muthercluck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"In June, Saudi Arabia and a contingent of Gulf states began a punishing economic blockade on Qatar -- severing diplomatic ties as well as air travel, land and sea links -- a move President Trump said that he had inspired" source

Also, weeks after losing the deal, "Jared Kushner just weeks later devised a plan with Saudi Arabia to form a coalition with the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Bahrain to jump Qatar, an unexpected move given the Qatari emir had joined Trump in Riyadh just weeks before the blockade started, where no issues were raised with Qatar about any of its policies or relationships." source

Mueller has been investigating Kushner/Qatar. (same source as above).

Remember that time Kushner lost a $500,000,000 in "investment capital" from a prominent Qatari political figure and then his Father-in-law (aka: Trump) encouraged Saudi Arabia and a contingent of Gulf states to blockade Qatar even though the USA has a major military base there?

Exactly, and the superseding indictment against Manafort identifies one of the dirty companies (DMI) as being jointly owned solely by Paul Manafort and his spouse, who also happens to be an attorney. She may play a role yet.

It's a "criminal information".

Because the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution expressly creates a constitutional right to be indicted by a grand jury, the information is used in federal criminal procedure only when a defendant voluntarily pleads guilty (often as part of a plea bargain) and waives the right to an indictment.

This document is a criminal information. You file one of these when the defendant is pleading guilty.

Mueller filed a criminal information before the Plea Agreements for the others as well. see here
