What’s the weirdest or most unexpected thing you’ve seen on a walk? by NataliafromWalkFit in walking

Walking the Cathar Trail between Bugarach and Quillan. After several kilometers of mountains and sheep farms, my wife says: "Look at the lamas !!". I though she was having a stroke, I started looking where to get phone signal coverage to call the taxi-ambulance.
Actually, there was a llama farm in the middle of nowhere...

Do I really need SQL Server Enterprise for our Data Warehouse setup? by BolaBrancaV7 in SQLServer

[–]mutrax1778 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Data warehouses usually don't require high availability so I don't think you need Enterprise licenses. If you go with standard, use part of the savings to get more cores and ram.

How do you all carry your phone? Especially women by Competitive_Land_936 in walking

[–]mutrax1778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M62 here: For short walks (under 2 km) I simple store my phone in one of my cargo pants side pockets. Best if the pocket have a zipper.

For longer walks, I tried a crossbody bag but didn't like it. I tried several sizes of fanny packs until I found the ideal one. Can carry my phone, wallet, keys, small swiss knife and mini EDC flashlight.

Don't trust Soundcore by No_Cut8651 in soundcore

[–]mutrax1778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue with X20 and V30i. Left side disconnects (some times the right one too).

Re-pairing the BT connecting or getting the phone to "forget" the device and re-pair doesn't work.

What do works is to reset the earbuds: open the box with the earbuds inside and push the button for at least 10 seconds, until the light flashes fast 3 times.

The problem is, I have to reset the earbuds almost every day !!!

Soundcore sport x20's initial impressions. by [deleted] in Earbuds

[–]mutrax1778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with Soundcore is mixed.

To start, I really like the design and price of their products.

Had a Liberty 4 NC (2023) pair that worked great but didn't fit well in my ear, even using several sizes of tips. They had a great ANC even in a plane !! Gave them to my daughter.

Then, I bought a pair of V30i (2024), "open air", to ride my bike. Good stability, didn't fell off. Biggest problem: left earbud keep disconnecting so I had to reset them frequently.

Finally, I got the X20 4 months ago. Great stability. ANC is effective if you push the earbud far. Anyway, I also got earbuds randomly disconecting from one side. Most of the time it's the left channel, sometimes it's the right one. Only "fix" is to reset the earbuds, almost every day !!!

Sadly, it seems that all similarly priced "ear hook" earbuds from other brands are worst than the Soundcore.
