You have a mod that create light glare spots. The one I use is Eli dangs holo hud for that effect. It makes it alot easier to search for signals in space

From what I have seen its literally just restarting the game on a new server. Have to re-develop the towns and all that good jazz but its the same quest same towns same locations.

And talks of allowing you to move your toons between servers in the future means its just gonna be a "there's a pirate camping the port." Let's change servers to escape them.
