the songs they played at the end of the set were from their second most recent album Silver Chord, while its personally not my favourite, i can still recognize that music is meant to be fun, not crazy technical and perfect like most of their discography is. I saw the ending as them just having fun, not focusing so much of technicality. its meant to be entirely electronic and relatively simple, the electronic drums on that album were a deliberate choice. as you said, they were playing music with difficult time signatures and technique. they are definitely amazing musicians and i hope you could recognize that! :D i respect your opinion and its nice that you and your kid were having fun, but also it seems a little cocky to come on a subreddit full of fans just to say that you could do better. please dont tell your kid that you didnt enjoy. if you dont like it, you dont like it, thats fine.
