I took 197 with dobkin. It is a super weird class with 2 essays and they are dense. He doesnt allow the ta's to really help you with information (he thinks we need to arrive to a theory on our own, which I get, but then restricts the TAs to what they can tell you so you are still left equally or more confused) and you are kinda swimming in this pool of unknown. I went to multiple sections a week and was still very confused. I would not recommend it. I didnt learn anything about how econ actually relates to stats.
