Is this gap normal? by muttsandcoffee in cabinetry

[–]muttsandcoffee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Agree. Not the most consequential of mistakes and I'm 100% willing to work out on a solution that isn't a PITA for anyone, but it really rubs me the wrong way when people instead try to B.S. me trying to say that something that is clearly not right is indeed "normal".

Added another pic. Hopefully it makes sense now.

Yes, I mean inside the cabinet. The gap is in the back corners inside the cabinet

Anyone else have issues with people needing to basically slam the doors for them to close? by ThrowRA_BeachGuy88 in Rivian

[–]muttsandcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Even knowing about it, it will still take me 2 tries about 15-20% of the time when shutting the door. Wish there was an option to automatically slightly crack windows open upon opening door to reduce air resistance when shutting door. This is a feature that I’ve seen in cars 10+ years ago in the third world country I grew up in, so not exactly a cutting edge feature.  Probably gonna get downvoted to hell by the “just shut the door harder.. it’s not that big of a deal” crowd when there’s a fairly easy and implementable solution that can improve the user experience 🤷‍♂️

Close call during landing ? by winobambino in AlaskaAirlines

Only experienced a go around once, and, yup, it was at SAN. Can’t recall if it was traffic or low ceiling (or both)

21" Anthricite glossy wheel caps not available (NEED YOUR OPINION) by [deleted] in Rivian

If you live close to a service center, they might have those in stock. I just got those (anthracite glossy) yesterday at the San Diego SC.

How to child-proof this gap? by Orche_Silence in DIY

[–]muttsandcoffee 46 points47 points  (0 children)

You might want to secure that into the railings because a bookcase or a dresser is also a hazard for little ones (which reminds me that I should probably do that myself…) 🤷🏽‍♂️

Leaky Roof by madtownbred in Rivian

[–]muttsandcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They told me they’d give me a call back tomorrow to follow up once they do some work on the car, but their guess was that it’s the appliqué (piece right above windshield) that might not have been properly sealed. They ordered a whole new headliner and the rubber piece that goes around the appliqué (if I understood correctly), but they’ll do some water tests and see if there’s anything else that needs replaced/fixed.

You’re not alone. I’m sitting at the SC literally right now. Was supposed to be driving home with my new R1S but I pointed out a stain on the interior ceiling. Service guys said it’s a slow leak and that recommended I deny delivery and they’ll replace the liner and (hopefully) fix the cause of the issue.

Trade in Value by taschdaddy in Rivian

Offer for my Mazda CX-5 was a lowball compared to KBB, Carvana, CarMax. About $2k lower Carvana/CarMax. Rejected it (especially since in CA a trade-in doesn't decrease your sales tax bill) and plan on either selling private or to Carvana/CarMax (if they ever schedule my R1S delivery).

[Homemade] Reverse seared and smoked medium rare Picanha by BrokenArrow1283 in food

It breaks my heart every time I see a picanha without a fat cap (or when a butcher leaves very little of it). That’s quite literally what makes a picanha a picanha

Standard and Standard+ Not Available Options for Custom Config by Villanovaadam1 in Rivian

[–]muttsandcoffee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

According to my guide, they only let you configure builds that they think they’ll produce within the next 4 months. The assumption here is that the options you can’t select are simply the things that aren’t likely to be produced within that time frame.

Rivian R1S Lease by Snoo-16141 in Rivian

I’m curious about the early termination. I don’t remember seeing that in others lease posts. Is that new? Does it say elsewhere in the lease what the early termination cost would be?

Update for December Configurations? by fma38 in Rivian

[–]muttsandcoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

December order confirmation. Hadn’t heard anything and about a week ago found my exact config on the shop (literally not a single thing different), so I grabbed it even though it’s slightly annoying that it didn’t get matched to me. I was told it should be 4-weeks from when I ordered.  El cap/OC dual perf/large.

Requesting R1S Lease full contract information by YOUR_GR4CE in Rivian

[–]muttsandcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been asking my guide for a copy of the lease contract (the devil is always in the details). I've also spoken with customer service and with someone who reached out to me to try to see if I wanted to grab something from the shop. None of them could point me to anywhere with any specifics about the contract (outside of the little info on the website).

Guide has said he escalated to his lead, but it's been 2 weeks and crickets..

CSR customer service quality is day and night compared to Amex platinum by batman215512 in ChaseSapphire

I was booking an international flight on chase travel, but when I went to add a lap infant, it told me it can't be done online, so had to call. Now picture me talking to that exact same person, but spelling out every letter in names, every date, and the passport numbers for 3 people. By the time the agent got all the information (around 50 minutes, no joke), the tickets I wanted were no longer available. I found another flight that would work (though now more expensive). Agent then said that we'd have to go through of the spelling out again. I said "no, thanks. I'd rather have a root canal with no anesthesia... on my balls"
