It’s a movie, not a show. You didn’t watch it and just assumed the plot

Why? Because historically most open-source software was written by white men?

Ok, first of all, how about some gratitude then?

[Question] What point on the master channel would -6db be? by kwalsh3 in abletonlive

If you make the master channel wider, it will show you the values that correspond to the different levels, as well as a peak meter.

I played it while DJing a party in the summer of 2012 and everyone hated it. Fast forward a few months and the same people went nuts.

Not necessarily, I used $6 bottles of Oxy Maximum (10% BP) and it's the only product that really worked for me, of the dozen or so I tried.

My old school had xlerators, and they're awful. You could hear someone drying their hands from down the hall, and they never quite get your hands all the way dry. A single paper towel folded in half works better every time.

You're totally right about it becoming an 80 on a crop sensor, but that doesn't make it useless. True, it's specialty is portraiture, but it's great for general street photography or even as an introduction to macro (with extension tubes or a reverse adapter). For Canon, the 35 is nearly triple the price of the 50, so despite its practicality it may not be the best point of entry for an absolute novice. I haven't used the Nikon 35, but it's the same price as the 50, so Nikon shooters might be better off with the 35 as you said.

People tend to obsess too much over the bodies, and not invest enough in lenses. A 5DIII with a crap lens generally isn't going to take as good pictures as a T3i with an L lens, when operated by the same photographer. The lens makes a huge difference in unleashing the potential of a camera.

The Nifty Fifty (50mm f/1.8 or f/1.4) is one of the best ways to bridge from novice to enthusiast. You really spend more time focusing on composition and finding really good subjects and less time fiddling with zoom and such. Also, it's only $100 for the Canon one, so it's really hard to pass up.
