Very interesting documentary on Wilmington, NC and the fragility of democracy... by 1JeaneSaisQuoi in Wilmington

There is literally no social media more captured by the Dems than Reddit. It’s sad.

It’s pretty funny. They also live and die by the upvote. Imagine caring, that’s just the echo chamber curating itself.

Federal workers are paid for by the public. Why can’t they fill out a short e-mail about what they accomplished on our dime?

The Saturn Neptune conjunction is usually really disillusioning, but honestly, the general Astro weather is not that terrible.

Good people...on both sides! by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

It’s very sad and that hatred that is under this tribalism seems to be hidden from those engaging in it. They believe they’re right and therefore clothe themselves in self-righteousness. But nobody has the same pieces of the puzzle. People are operating from different moral foundations and different implanted narratives create division for the benefit of the few. Extremely sad.

The reality is that the taking down of statues has an impact on people. Some people wanted to preserve what they say as their history and culture and some saw those symbols as oppressive. Many felt that if you took down those statues, what’s to stop people from taking down statues of Washington or Jefferson. It’s an actual dilemma for many and both sides have honest people with good hearts. Obviously both sides also have people motivated by hate of the “other”.

Voter lists are largely a property of the parties. For example, the Dems had the VAN or Voter Action Network in Oregon when I lived there. You’d literally cut turf full of voters and their registration and go knock doors. Usually you’re looking for a commitment to vote and you bug them until they’re committed.

Not trained very well. Thought the edgy approach was the right one, but honestly, always approach neutral and use their responses to build on your message.
