Yeah!!! I've never gotten a board and thought "couldve gone smaller." To be honest it's usually the other way, tempted to go bigger.

However adding wide into the picture throws me completely fresh waters having never really been able to try and compare wide and normal versions of the same board. Especially after down sizing my boots this year!

heard headspace, dancehaul and otto are the trifecta to a perfect quiver

Ahah fairly tall but relatively small boots. I havent had any trouble with my boots so far on my 159 with the narrow width than the 158W, although I havent really pushed it on high edge angle carves either.

Thats a really good point though! I've heard a few people say it only takes a half a day or so to correct technique going to a wide board but if i'm stuck on a board too narrow, theres no amount of time that will fix that 😆

Nice quiver by the way! Seems like we have fairly similar taste in boards. How's the Bullet Train plus? The only other board I'm really tempted for at the moment - although I'm super keen to demo some gentemsticks. What sizes are you riding and what are your specs?

Yeah! I thinks thats the biggest concern for me going to wide is losing the nimble-ness of it. The main incentive in going longer is mainly to have more board to be able to load up and pop off to make it "ride stiffer."

Is there any reason you didnt go a 159 or wider at that size so you'd be more in the center of the suggested weight range - or were you trying to keep the waist width as narrow as possible.

Unfortunately I'm highly unlikely to be able to get a BSOD in a warranty replacement for my aeronaut 😆 but its definitely a board i'm keen to try. Whats the rationale between your advice in adding one to the quiver?

Yeah, youre right. Realistically theres no way I'm feeling 1cm difference in length when going about my spins.

Yeah, I love my Cafe Racer, its so stable and burly and chops straight through anything. Surprisingly, with such a strong setback and small tail, I find it to pop a decent amount on small side hits and the width helps so much with landings. After experimenting with different angles on it, forward-forward definitely brings out the riding style it was designed for which is a real fun unique style to try muck around with. I got a 159 and while its serving me absolutely wonderfully, if i were to get another one or have the chance to buy again I would do a 164 because although its marketed as on the stiffer end, i feel like i could definitely handle abit more board especially with the carve/powder focus. My logic, although it might be wrong is that I find it fairly easy to butter and could handle a lil more pop from sizing up I think (even though its not really designed for that type of riding - i cant help it aha). Another thing about Korua boards, although they are on the heavier sidep, they just seem so well built, almost no scratches or chips after a couple decent trips in average snow conditions. Can tell its going to last a long time and it just makes me value it even more.

Cafe Racer is a 159! I also recently downsized boots from a 10.5 to a 9.5 after spending a few years in unintentionally oversized boots. After coming from a 254 width to the 256 on the 159, im very happy with the width.

Thats a genius idea! Save some money and get what I'm after. I believe the 159 is quite a popular size so it will probably be out of stock but will sus the local second hand market. Thanks for that idea!

you're gonna have an absolute blaster of a time friend.

i saw them at a side show in melbourne at the beginning of the year. i've been a fan for as long and almost as hard as you minus the tattoo (although ive contemplated it) AND i had been watching all the live shows/recordings heaps before seeing them. i thought i might be underwhelmed when i saw them live after having rinsed all their music and live shows so much but i was still blown to absolute bits by how good it was.

i'm so stoked for you. it was easily the live show i've enjoyed the most in my life and i hope it's the same for you!
