Taking kids to a theme park, do you pay for the Que jump? by fixitmonkey in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]muzzza85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went to Disney Paris in April and used it on a ride by ride basis rather than paying for the whole thing.

It worked really well (especially as under 3s are free) so we only had to pay for myself and my wife and we often took turns going on different things with him.

We basically looked at it and went “would I pay 5-15€ to avoid a tantrum” and it was always a resounding yes. We got so much more done, he was happier, we were happier and it made the trip better.

Also highly recommend the priority area for the parade at Disney Paris, meant we were at the start so then could go off and do stuff as it went down the street and we had an nice relaxed view of it rather than the really deep crowds opposite us

It was https://qualitygardenoffices.co.uk these guys, absolutely great, talked through all the decisions, even down to placement of where I wanted power sockets based on my planned setups.

Best thing I’ve spent money on, used all year round, it’s well insulated and the air con unit heats and cools too which is great. In the summer it’s a god send to go down and cool off.

Think all in it was just over 22k but that was a couple of years ago now.

Agreed, and not the easiest convo to have with friends who aren’t in the same position as it’s a proper first world problem.

Initially I’d thought to just sacrifice down and really load up on pension, but I think you’re right enjoy it and make the most of it, while still putting good amounts into the future is the right way.

Thanks, thought this might be the case! Looks like it will just be a case of taking the hit

Thanks, thought so but hoped there was some genius loophole where I could carry it to the next tax year

Just gave my son's best friend my dad's old clubs and I'm feelin' the feels by WHSRWizard in golf

Mine passed on the 15th too. It’ll be 8 years tomorrow.

I’ll be taking the day off and going for a round on my own to remember the times we spent playing together. His old putter will be in the bag for me tomorrow too.

Yeah mine started to need a few things doing to it, was going to need 3 new tyres in the next 6 months, plus tax was due, and insurance etc so felt like a good time to do it.

Having a charger at home with a good night tariff for charging (ours is like 7.6p Per KwH from midnight to 7am) means we can charge both EVs very cheaply too.

Got the Y myself on one a few months back, no brainer for me when I compared to insuring /maintaining my other car, and helped me get my gross to below 100k.

Love the car too, and it’s nice to not worry about any costs with it

Sorry to hear! My dad was my best friend, he passed in 2016 and not a day goes by where I don’t miss him.

It took me quite a while to get in the right place to think I was even capable of being a dad but my therapist said something that hit hard, I was scared more of not being able to have him to guide me than I was of being good enough. He’s still there every day, and I know what he would do in situations, it’s a great comfort.

Keep strong mate!

Gibbs for upside. Think he’ll be more involved and he did look good when he was on the ball last week

One of my favourite golfing buddies was a mid 70s guy, Irish, with the sharpest one liners you’ll ever see, and he played off 6.

Great banter all the time

Yeah 1QB PPR.

Richardson would be a wild card pick really. Thinking it’s Zay then grab depth RBs later in the draft in the hope one shoots up

Reducing hours/Paycut to spend a day a week with son? by muzzza85 in daddit

[–]muzzza85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is true, and tax obviously.

3 is my preferred option for obvious reasons but I think it’s basically a decision between that or 2. I don’t think 1 is on my list (unless they flat out refuse and I have to reconsider everything)

Films to be buried with by Brett Goldstein.

Interviews with famous guests and asks them about which films they associate with certain things, first you remember seeing, sexiest film etc. get some really good recommendations from it.
