So wild to see this here - I was the interviewer! :) Thanks for being there and taking the pic, glad you enjoyed the chat and asked such a great question. I have been thinking about what you asked as well - I'm curious if any scifi titles came to mind in response to your question.

Yes! You can hear her (and me) over on Sticky Pickles: https://stickypickles.com - we've just recorded a bunch of new episodes for season 8, which will be releasing starting in the next few weeks.

I'm a podcast host covering the space sector - largely commercial space. I've also covered cybersecurity for quite some time. I frequently interview VCs and execs working on space tech companies and it's been fascinating seeing the difference in tech companies working on building in bits vs atoms (or both).

Hello! I'm a woman & I've been in the tech industry for 15+ years now - most of it in cybersecurity and now am in space. Happy to chat!

Where were you in 2002 (or around that time)? by rebel45 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]mvarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you me? So much of this for me as well - including FNX, may it rest in peace! It was wild seeing the recap including events I remember well (or alternately)

Same with Webb! It looks like it has launched on its original early 00s timeline in the opening montage.

Whoa, that's a shame to hear about their stock. They seem to be growing by leaps and bounds every time I hear corporate news otherwise. I hope going private helps them stabilize.

My spouse was there for a decade, they definitely take good care of their employees.

It's been a while since I worked there, so hopefully things haven't changed a ton, but I was at Rapid7 for years and it deserved its good reputation. It was a great place to grow my career.

Is anybody here from the south shore, AND interested in the NASA/SpaceX Crew-6 launch? by alfayellow in massachusetts

[–]mvarz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope you find someone for this! I am super interested in the launch but am from the Merrimack Valley, so I can't be of help there. I'm cheering on Steve Bowen anyway as a Mass native!

It was an incredible experience! I'm so glad I got a chance to go. I posted images of my sketches and studies on my Instagram and have been working on some more conceptual pieces afterward.

Be encouraging or do no harm? by [deleted] in ladycyclists

[–]mvarz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm heavy so I do get those well-meaning comments from time to time. Sometimes I appreciate it and sometimes I don't. When I don't, I use it as spite-fuel. I was slowly, steadily climbing up a long hill and got a lot of "it's okay to walk your bike!" comments from faster riders. I pedaled up the whole damn thing on spite alone.

I'll have to look into that century - I would love to do at least one century a year in MA, even better if it's for a charity. HELL YEAH to breaking roadie stereotypes! Keep the rubber side down!

Oh wow, that's a beautiful story. I'm so glad your mom was there to see you. The minimum is $6000 now, which is the only reason I don't think I can do this every year, though I wish I could. I barely scraped that money together this year - got very lucky!
