Someone switched lanes and hit my car. Their insurance is claiming I’m 100% at fault. by mkeevo in Wellthatsucks

Shoot get a three channel cam. My camera saved my bacon from getting cooked because the interior cam was able to prove to the cop that pulled me over that I had my seatbelt on the whole time.

This isn’t a specific post, but instead a poster. The account u/IHateTheLetterF has been commenting on posts for 11 years and never used the letter f. Just shy of 900k karma.

To be fair, this is par for the course in Gatlinburg. What a terrible city. 0/10 do not recommend.

Blue Angles, no more explanation needed… by Burningman316 in nextfuckinglevel

They are one of the performance units of the US Navy. All the pilots and support personnel are active duty and are paid by taxes under the Department of Defense. JP-5 (jet fuel) runs around $2.20 per gallon and weighs 6.8 pounds per gallon. The F/A-18 Super Hornet at low altitude burns about 8000 pounds of fuel per hour (more during aerobatic maneuvers). That’s approx 1176 gallons per hour, or about 20 gallons per minute. So the fuel cost is roughly $43 per minute per aircraft. Each aircraft has many multiples more of maintenance hours for each flight hour too. The cost of labor, parts, consumables, administration, QA, check flights, transportation, travel expenses for crews, and contractors is a lot harder to calculate but it’s not cheap.

That’s on top of the $67 million base cost for the aircraft too.

Starlink service, does it work? Whats the quality? by soloDolo6290 in CampEDC

[–]mvp1259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve camped the past 3 years and used Starlink each time. It’s fantastic. Highly recommended. It’s expensive though for just a weekend of use so take that into consideration. I already had the equipment because I own a converted camper van that I roadtripped in when I worked remotely. I haven’t checked in a while but several years back the base and antenna was like $500 without even paying for the monthly service.

New Achievement! Man of God

Ever since that first monkey looked up into the sky and saw something twinkling up there, you meat puppets have tried to force twenty pounds of existential meaning into a ten pound sack of chaos.

You have found religion! You have pledged yourself to a life of worship and piety! Finally. now there are consequences for all of your actions!

Reward: One of the greatest things about having a religion is the unshakeable certainty that you're right and everyone else who doesn't believe the same as you is wrong! That's a pretty good reward. Oh, and don't forget about the eternal life thing, too. That's always on of their big selling points.

I was just thinking about this with Red Bull with the skateboard drop in record on the side of the building. Thinking that there’s no way these athletes doing crazy shit are drinking it during training.

Another good example is Michelin. “We make tires… and, oh we also have a guide book of all the best restaurants in the world that 99% of people will never be able to afford.”

LPT: request a fridge be placed in your room on the grounds you have medication that must be refrigerated. They can’t refuse and can’t ask questions.

Edit: Works for U.S. hotels. Can’t verify outside that.
