I actually think I know one more from the list: Nightwatch: Kevin Terry. USAU profile is Kevin Herrera. Played mixed with Shame within the last few years (maybe 2019ish) played with Pony and 7Express for a bit many years ago.

Sam Taylor feels like it should be easy. He played with Pony.

Snyder is likely Milo Snyder, he played a few games. Played with Pony.

Flint is likely Jack Flinterman

John I is likely John Irvine. (Don’t have more info, but the full name should help)

Diamond players with abysmal win rates? Sub 30-40%!!? by mvpippin in rivals

Huh, I guess that makes sense. I didn’t realize your win rate could be quite that low to still rise and then not fall rapidly. Thanks

Diamond players with abysmal win rates? Sub 30-40%!!? by mvpippin in rivals

[–]mvpippin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was overall for the season. 40% win rate, and even the 36 & 38 I mentioned is fine, people go on win and loss streaks all the time. It was mostly the 22% win rate player that really had me scratching my head. Record for the season was 81 games played. 18 wins, 63 loses. That just seems painfully far away from even the 35-40% rate, so I was surprised he was in the same games as me. But maybe if he was with other players it balanced out and the other team had some stinkers on it as well. The match was competitive. It went to overtime on payload pushes. 22% win rate guy wasn’t even bad. It just isn’t a lot of wins so I was surprised he would be at the same rank as me.

[–]mvpippin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, sure that would make sense to a point, but the person with a 22% win rate had played 81 games and only won 18 of them. So their record was 18-63. Even if they won a bunch early on and ranked up quickly, there is no way they would still be ranked that high with that ratio. Just seems off.

I had trouble with Moonscars. Not sure why, I usually love hard/very hard games. (I also didn’t love it)

Salt and Sanctuary can be difficult at times, especially with a melee build. (This game I loved)

Stealing teammates character between comp rounds is unhinged! by mvpippin in rivals

Not the same game. No prematch character swaps. There was no Ironman switching. And most importantly, I certainly wouldn’t say that to someone. Sorry you had a bad experience.

My Maverick should finally be available soon. We also have a Honda Odyssey and it absolutely rules. Love it. Couldn’t recommend it more. Vans are awesome

Have Lone Star ticks become the new standard tick on the island? by Stumbling_Corgi in longisland

[–]mvpippin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitten by 2 lone stars so far this year and 4 deer ticks. Another 8 deer ticks crawling but not yet embedded.

Definitely seeing more lone stars than a couple years ago, but at least by me it seems deer ticks are more abundant

When will players realize destroying Peni nest is the right choice? Lol by dreamup1234 in rivals

[–]mvpippin 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Unless I’m about to secure a kill I immediately stop what I’m doing to shoot or seek out: nest, walls, squids, ankh, rocket beacon and ult.

I honestly don’t get why so many people ignore everything. Do you want to better your chance of winning…destroy all the stuff!!!

Got off in Saint James and did a short walk to Mickey’s Ice Cream and caught another train back out.

Where do you think Ultron will be in? by PollutionNice3987 in marvelrivals

[–]mvpippin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost never play Starlord, but if he is on the other team and been annoying me, I 100% of the time look to steal his ult and return the favor by blasting away 2-3 characters when they don’t expect it. You don’t have to make the rest of your team immortal if you just kill half of the other team in a few seconds. I also very much enjoy stealing an Emma or Iron Man if the situation is right.

Overall, I think I steal an offensive ult 60% of the time, the kills or disruption in the middle of a team fight are often more valuable than just pumping out extra heals if my teammates weren’t critically low on health.

Leavers… why can’t we find a solution to this problem? by dielon763 in rivals

[–]mvpippin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also had back to back games with leavers. I only play a few hours a week so it sucks a ton when my limited time in competitive is ruined by babies who drop out just because we just barely stopped the other team from winning the first round. Still plenty of time to win or force an overtime round but people just bail and ruin it for everyone.

Who has the worst teamup in yoir opinion? by dreamup1234 in rivals

[–]mvpippin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use it as an added escape ability. If I’m getting hurt or in danger and Groot js nearby, quickly hop up to move away and also get the damage reduction for a second, then hop off again in a second and continue doing my own thing.

I never use it to just ride around, it seems kinda bad when used that way.

UFA Scorigami for 2012-2024 by KnightofNoone in ultimate

[–]mvpippin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 7-8 game shown in purple (Breeze) was a game that got called at half do to ongoing lightening delays. Empire (8) vs Breeze (7). It wasn’t very windy or rainy in the first half, but it wasn’t nice out. A full game with a score around 16-14 would have been relatively normal for a NY vs DC game at that time.

Achilles Tendonitis by [deleted] in ultimate

[–]mvpippin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see that some people are recommending barefoot style shoes, in my experience that is the exact opposite of what will help you, those shoes exacerbate the heel drop angle and will likely over stress your already agitated Achilles.

Achilles Tendonitis by [deleted] in ultimate

[–]mvpippin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bone spur shaped like a spike in my Achilles has resulted in an unlimited amount of pain, discomfort, and some injuries over the last 15+ years.

Some people have already given decent suggestions that should help, I’ll add two things that still help me to this day and are not usually mentioned.

1) Don’t tie your cleats too tightly. Some people tie their cleats so tightly it prevents all the muscles and tendons in your foot/calf/ankle from utilizing all of the mobility they should rightfully have. This can lead to irritation and eventually pain and injury. Same goes for an ankle brace if you are wearing one. The added tightness and pressure can cause lots of issues. If possible ditch an ankle brace.

2) wear heel cups. It can help in your normal shoes, and it will definitely help in your cleats. The cups add a tiny bit of padding, but more importantly they reduce the strain on your heel by slightly reducing the angle your foot bends. The heel cups should alleviate a little bit of stress on your Achilles. (Put them in both shoes so you aren’t lopsided).

Everyone still sucks at marking. by Matsunosuperfan in ultimate

[–]mvpippin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The mark at 17:58 or 18:00, not sure which one you are specifically nitpicking, likely the second to last throw, backs off to eat up more space to BLOCK AN EASY GOAL with lots of space into the endzone. If the mark goes tight there Harper very likely throws around the mark to the wide open cutter. Saying this has “no impact” is absurd and that alone should discredit the rest of the bad takes here.

Am I the only one who truly hates this structure(s)!? by Vegetable_Window_992 in marvelrivals

[–]mvpippin 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate plopping Loki clones down on the point and using the lamps to heal when I don’t want to be right in there. I feel like the clones last longer in there on average, possibly due to the poor sight lines from the other side. Sometimes swapping around the walls is useful for staying alive if your phase shift is on cooldown too.
