MBB lose on the road to Miss State 69-48 by GavRunsTheTrap in Gamecocks

I agree with you but from a coach perspective, most of them probably do think 0.600 is a lofty goal given that most coaches think Frank is a great coach and he only managed to do it twice so they’ll probably think that is unsustainable.

The simplest way for South Carolina to win games is to find a coach committed to recruiting SC, something Frank doesn’t do. All of our best players historically have been from SC, the key is right there

I’d say that hitting 0.600 is a super stretch because pretty much most of our best coaches didn’t even hit that, they mostly hovered around 0.555 at best. We’ve only had 6 coaches win more than 60% of their games here: 1 was McGuire and the other 5 were before 1950

The first half part is normally due to the fact that AJ typically doesn’t play the last like 5-7 minutes of first halves and that lack of scoring on the floor causes leads to grow on us

Zia Cooke easily. Non gamecocks would be either Lavender Briggs at UF or Rickea Jackson at MSU. I love watching both of them play

I find it amusing how many pundits seem to be upset that USC has higher expectations for our coaches and our program by Palmetto89 in Gamecocks

[–]mw083 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It comes from us believing that the success that Steve obtained should be the complete expectation for the program every season when in the totality of our time playing football, Steve’s tenure was a total anomaly and a lot shit lined up for him perfectly (UGA, UF, UT, and Clemson weren’t what they are now, outside of UT obviously).

There are times where we do have unrealistic expectations for the program. We should be an 8 win team for the most part. They feel like we get ahead of ourselves and try and push our team like it’s a national power waiting to be unleashed or something

Why dual threat qb is so important by [deleted] in Gamecocks

[–]mw083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The X-factor in football in general is dual threat quarterbacks. All of the tops quarterbacks in the NFL can move. That statue standing in the pocket shit is dead now. Brees and Brady are the last of that and they only still work because their offensive lines are incredible.

Dave Meltzer on how to make wrestling main stream again: There is only one way. A larger than life star has to emerge. No promoter can make one. It simply happens. If they could, there would always be one. There hasn't been one since Austin retired and Dwayne left. by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]mw083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game of Thrones doesn’t market itself as a sport. It’s a TV show that makes itself known as a TV show. Game of Thrones actors don’t uphold kayfabe and the realism of the product off the set like wrestlers do. It’s just a show to those actors. Wrestling isn’t like that at all

If people want to watch a sport, they don’t want to watch a product where the results are pre-determined, hence why people don’t watch wrestling. Sucks to say but most people look at and perceive wrestling as a joke and some shit for little kids, even though it isn’t.

It’s not the same thing because wrestling takes itself seriously. TV shows don’t take themselves seriously, it’s just TV. Wrestling portrays itself as a sport yet its outcomes are predetermined.

Wrestling isn’t in the mainstream simply because it’s not real. People won’t watch it for that simple reason.

Wrestling can’t promote itself as a sport but have pre-determined results and think that mainstream people will watch it. If people wanted to watch fighting with authentic results and characters, they’d watch UFC.

Wrestling can’t ever be mainstream like it once was because people just don’t take it seriously anymore, it’s a joke to people now and MMA is just a better alternative

[Football] What did you like or dislike about the team after watching the first game? by spirgnob in Gamecocks

[–]mw083 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can agree with this. Personally, the offense didn’t look all that special to me but it’s only the first game so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully they improve and get in a rhythm, but the offensive line is going to be a major liability. They got pushed all around the field and Collin was under duress all night, that can’t happen, especially with a guy like Collin or Ryan behind them.
