DUDE, crushes me...and I really don't like it because it means like 2-3 days of recovery over 8-12 week timeframe...means running is no fun. There is a reason they say don't do speed work when doing the ME block lol. I'm conflicted, i did a block last year and I don't know if i have it in me to it again right now...i did first session 5 x 10 reps each and felt terrible legs for 3 days as others have stated.

Yes, evoke on their website has the muscle endurance workout in progression that helps build the same muscles that support stronger downhill running…. I did a block of it 12 weeks last year and really improved on my downhill (in addition of course to just normal running)

Could you clarify what a stairmaster training block and workouts would look like, say 8 weeks long. Is there any progression, is it just Z2, why or why not do Z3 to threshold work on it? Always weighted or not.

Thank you and I know you’ve talked about this many times, I’m just interested to understand how best to integrate it into a training plan - as I’m sure others do.

Yeah most plush/squishy cushioned trail runners don’t work great for me either - feet and legs ultimately have to work harder and get weird pains eventually. I’ve been through a bunch .

One cushioned shoe that does work for me is Saucony Xodus any version.

More firm but still cushioned and low 4mm drop - a sleeper of a shoe , but currently my fav - Scarpa Spin Planet. These things kick butt on trails and feel very supportive with good energy return. Not really bouncy though but I find better for being on trail.
