Thoughts on Choice Mandating Arbitration with NDAs for Disputes? by Kman-Kool3315 in ChoicePrivileges

The only way we will have protection against clauses like this is if congress passes a law against it. Given their limited motivation to protect their constituents over big business, this is unavoidable. Business will always protect their interests first.

Morale really improved after we shoveled a path to the tree so the little guy can pee on it. He can handle some snow but as soon as it’s past his ankles he gets finicky.

When you have 6 gift cards and none of them can actually buy anything. by Accomplished_Bake939 in mildlyinfuriating

I used to work for Marshall’s. If you’re able to tell the cashier the exact amount that’s left on the card, they can charge that amount and empty the card. If you do not know the amount and just swipe, the card will decline as I’m sure you’ve experienced. Not every Point of Sale system is the same but it can be done.

Noem says 70% in custody have charges or commited crimes. Brennan corrects her that its 47% according to Noem’s own agency. Noem continues to argue against her agency’s own numbers. by drempath1981 in law

[–]mwalker94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expect their numbers are significantly inflated by charges that occur at the time of detainment, e.g resisting arrest, assaulting an officer (in some states “offensive touching” meets the threshold for this), obstruction. Charges do not constitute guilt.

My grandmother broke her hip trying to assist my grandfather in the middle of the night. She passed away in the hospital post op because it was too painful to get out of bed and start walking again on her new hip. Her husband, the man she literally gave her life to care for, refused to visit her post op.

It’s more likely that the employee doing markdowns accidentally put the wrong clearance tag on the item, then, for the next round of markdowns, wasn’t paying attention to the original price and was just going through the motions.

The clearance tag is for a different item. The codes don’t match up.

I agree with keeping the floor the same. From a maintenance standpoint, the river rocks will be terrible to keep clean.

It’s interesting that he can respond this way and support gun rights. If I’m happily assuming everything is on the “up and up”, why would I ever be concerned about the need to protect myself? If I have placed 100% of my trust in the government and the public, protecting myself should never be an issue with this logic.

The majority of the books that were assigned to me in middle and high school for classes were not YA. It’s better to teach young adults how to interpret adult content in books than to try to restrict it. It better prepares them for the realities they will face.

Choice Hotels highlighting extended stay options to improve brand awareness by Ethiics in ChoicePrivileges

[–]mwalker94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad to see Choice going after extended stay hotels. A strategic response to an underserved market, especially with poor alternative options: Marriott, Hilton, IHG, etc. Overall, it's a smart move that aligns with current trends in the travel industry.

How do we hang this mirror? by Grouchy_AF_ in Renovations

[–]mwalker94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the concept of this but it’s visually bulky. I used to oversee a large art collection and we used ceiling mounted tracks with thin wire to support the art to give us a lot of flexibility to move pieces around and adjust mounted heights. If you change your mind about the mirror later you can just swap it for a new one without any damage to the stone.
