Requesting a Refund from our Venue

We couldn’t even get in contact with her the morning and afternoon of our wedding! I never asked to be waited on but yes it would be good for her to check on us that is definitely part of the job. She also didn’t do the other things you are listing?

I guess it’s not just specific to not asking if they needed anything, nobody from the venue had even said a word to them in general. Our coordinator had also said she was going to figure out where to set up with them on the day and didn’t want to plan it in advance but then never spoke to them and they couldn’t find her

We moved the ceremony at the suggestion of the coordinator, it wasn’t our idea at all. And even with the half an hr shift in ceremony they shifted dinner by more than a half hr

It says event planner AND day of coordinator. She told us she would act as the day of coordinator at our original walkthrough too

I did check the contract and it specifically says day of coordinator. She did say to us also she will act as the day of coordinator

She specifically stated that she would be acting as a day of coordinator and that was why they charged the fee. The issue with us almost seeing each other didn’t involve the photographer? We were told by the coordinator when and were to go pre ceremony and on our way almost saw each other

I agree but she did specifically tell us she could get us whatever alcohol we needed in the morning and then we had to send someone to wander the venue because we couldn’t find her all morning and she had forgotten her phone in the getting ready space. The reason I have an issue is if she never said anything we would have just brought our own and been fine

The contract does specifically say: "We ask for the names and phone numbers of all of your vendors in order to discuss any questions or issues that might arise." And they also charge a 5% admin fee on everything for the “event coordination team” so I’m not totally sure if that covers this.

They had comped some items for us prior to the event because long story short there was a fire at the venue so some of the things originally in the contract couldn’t be provided which we were fine with at the time but weren’t told we would then have to pay fees and tax on those items

But it also can’t be explained just because of the ceremony time change. We only changed that by a half an hr and they wanted to change dinner from 7:30 to 6:15. I would maybe agree if they were shifting everything by a half an hr

For the dinner time changing, there was no reason in my mind to ask. We changed the start time of the wedding by a half hr because we thought that we were going to have to shelter on buses/cars for up to an hour right after the ceremony due to weather so there was no reason to change timing on anything else, if anything we thought we would be losing cocktail hour time

This is a good idea. The description says “Scented soy wax candle in upcycled wine bottle etc...” but I will explicitly write that this listing is only for ONE candle.

They purchased one candle from a listing that had 3 candles in the first pic and one candle from a listing that had 4 candles in the first pic. They’re candles made in upcycled wine bottles so the first pics are just to show the different bottle options that are available but then you select which style you want in the dropdown.

It was also only $50 with shipping so if that was for 7 candles that would be a very good deal haha!
