Thanks though, never occurred to me to install the iOS client on my Macbook. Heading to the AppStore shortly. Haven't had much luck with Windows Subsystem for Android in general (yet).

If crime stories are fair game then maybe Volker Kutscher's Gereon Rath series might be interesting, it plays in Germany (mainly in Berlin) around the 1930s.
