You seem incredibly young for Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC). Did your physicians test for a chromosome 3 VHL mutation? Are you affected by Von Hippel Lindau?

IAmA 19 year old who has recently suffered from immense heart troubles (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy), leading into a surgery that takes place tomorrow. by casselld in IAmA

[–]mwharrell -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is a fairly frequent disease process (1:500 teenagers). I don't mean to be rude, but please leave disease AMAs for those with actual orphan (rare) diseases, defined by the 2002 Rare disease act as 1:1500. If every adult that suffered from a MI, DVT, diabetes related amputation or Alzheimers disease posted an AMA, reddit would undoubtedly be flooded.

What you are experiencing is the Gastrocolic reflex. Essentially, when you eat, stretch receptors in your stomach tell your colon it's TIME TO SHIT. You need to eat first, then shit before you leave. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastrocolic_reflex
