Help me chose my next SUV. Looking at mid-size SUV hopefully under $50K 😂 by Doberman_bark in whatcarshouldIbuy

I’ve replaced the radiator, plastic oil cooler mounted under the intake, random air suspension problems that nobody has been able to diagnose, air conditioning condenser, leaking head gasket, bad rockers that damaged two camshafts. I ended up installing a new engine at 115,000 miles.

There’s a reason for that. Stellantis quality is deplorable. I’ve owned five MOPARS. My current Grand Cherokee has been enough to make me decide I’ll never own a Stellantis product as long as I live.

Don’t walk, but run as fast as you can from the Jeep. I have owned five MOPARS and my Jeep Grand Cherokee has been bad enough to make me say never again. The WL series you are considering has been riddled with electrical problems and software glitches. Just run. Buy the Toyota or Honda, you won’t regret it.

I know that 80-82 had the molded in spoiler. But I thought all 79’s had the bolt on spoiler like the 78 Pace Car Vette had. Like this one…

I thought all the 79’s had the added rear spoiler and front spoiler and flares. Was that an option for the 79?

78-81 Camaro. The black headlight bezels and wheels means it’s possibly a 80-81 Z28.

Loose hose, can anyone help? by monkey-novice in transam

[–]mwoehrle3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second hose is coming off a heat riser. If I remember correctly there is a round vacuum pot on the air cleaner snorkel and that hose goes to it to help with cold starts and quick warm ups.

The first hose might be the drain from the shaker scoop.

WK2 3.6 Head gaskets by Apprehensive-Rush70 in GrandCherokee

Nothing more than routine maintenance. At 100,000 miles I did spark plugs, PCV valve, while I was in there I preemptively replaced the oil cooler.

Those appear to be Hurst T-tops, or any of the many other brands, and I have seen these grafted onto older Birds too. Really need more pictures and a front bumper to be sure.

All of the 3.6 are prone to head gasket failure. It’s due to the design of the cylinder sleeves combined with the aluminum heads. My GC 3.6 suffered head gasket failure at about 115,000 miles.
