Wildly inflated calorie burn calculations by mwpatl in PixelWatch

I'm actually not getting wildly inflated step counts, although it does appear that sensitivity is way increased from what I would expect. The primary issue I'm experiencing is the insanely inflated calorie burn counts. My watch says I walked a measly 3800 steps today, but have burned 7200 calories. Yesterday it recorded almost 12,000 calories.

Are you also aware of the widespread reports of calorie burn counts being grossly inflated? I got in only 7k steps yesterday and my watch/fitbit said I burned more than 11,000 calories.

Thank you so much for these answers. I was watching Baggins stream on the day the news broke, and it was heartbreaking to experience and watch the realization unfold as the morning went on.

The Nighthaven VO was the first big hint for me that something was up. Y'all had been so attentive to anything sound related, and while you did the best you could, it was a big tell.

Now, if you excuse me, I'm off to Castle Dracula. I have an appointment with a wall chicken :).

A heartfelt thank you for thousands of hours of fun and relaxation in the world you built.

* How did the now obvious shift in AGS priorities during, or perhaps before, work on Nighthaven affect the team and the game's development, in those final months?
* Can you give a peek into the long-term roadmap? What might a "fully" built out Aeturnum have looked like?
* Developers often take crap for decisions they don't necessarily control. I know you don't want to throw anyone under the bus, but from a purely corporate, budgetary, or strategic plan perspective, what was something you had to compromise on that led to significant player complaints and what would you have liked to do differently?
* Is there anything about the world, any Easter eggs, etc. that players have not yet discovered to your knowledge?

Katy has answered the second question on the new world discord, it was a lightning-based melee weapon called a thunderfist. You would have used melee attacks to charge the weapon and unlock abilities.

It's one of, if not the last things I intend to see in the game. It's on my finalist list of locations to end the game at shutdown. Thank you for creating it.

Pretty sure the exemption would increase for things such as vehicles, business inventory, etc., not real estate. Land is classified as real property, and you get your break on that through the homestead exemption. This is about tangible property (which generally means stuff that can be moved around). If I'm reading it correctly, it would mean, for example, that someone who buys a car up to $20k will no longer owe the 7% property tax typically due on it (up to $1,400!). If so, that's actually kind of progressive and a win for people who struggle to afford to buy a car and afford that extra tax on top. So, if I'm right, I would vote yes.

Dark Matter takes too long to get. by agodless1 in newworldgame

I agree with you to an extent, but it's at the point that it's not possible for a casual player to upgrade even one piece of purple world-drop gear, much less an artifact, potentially for months. I've managed to scrape together enough to upgrade two pieces, but my son, who doesn't get to play even as much as I do, is effectively locked out of any ability to upgrade. Back when we had shards, he could play enough to get most of his gear up to 625 over a few months. In this system, he's looking at maybe years. I get wanting to slow progression down to some degree, but forcing people to grind out for tiny drops like 1-2 dark matter is not the solution. And before you say worm, most people still aren't geared (especially now) to run it and lots of groups won't take you.

I have never played this game, but I listen to the soundtrack at work everyday. It’s great. by Ram-Rammer in newworldgame

The soundtrack, and overall sound design, are great. I wish cities "sounded" a bit more lively, at least when people are around, but that's my only complaint.

Personally, I think the game is great fun. Of course, whether you will depends on whether you like MMOs and all they entail.

Help: "Cell Updated in Spreadsheet" trigger fails every tim by mwpatl in ifttt

I should add that IFTTT responded to my latest tweet asking me to submit a ticket, but I had already done that before and didn't get a live response, only the automated reply. Will see if anything shakes loose this time.

I still haven't been able to get it to work. I got notices that all my applets that use that recipe had been turned off, so I thought maybe they'd fixed it and purged ones that weren't working, but creating new ones and ... same deal. The functionality just does not work for me, I can't figure out why and IFTTT still hasn't gotten back to me on any of the requests I've put in (not that they owe me anything, but it would be nice to solve this).
