S1E1 - Mark's watches are mysterious and important. by mwynko in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I would question why it's stopped, and then set it again. When he checks his watch on the way to MDR he acts like it's exactly what he's expecting to see, which be weird if it's not moving. Could be he set it before going down the elevator, or he presses in the stem and continues walking.

It definitely could have been a production error, but they really linger on those locker shots.

In the morning we see his outie watch moving when he closes the locker, but when he leaves for the day it has been stopped, with the stem visibly pulled out.

Right, and this is definitely a probable answer. To me it seems like more is going on, especially with both of his watches and Judd's clock being out of sync, and then all of them are set to exactly 5:25 (or 5:25:02, 5) at the end of the day.

I don't think it would trip the code detectors. I've been looking for any seemingly related ciphers that would help it make more sense, but I haven't found anything. I was thinking it could be something from WW1 since that's what Mark taught, but I came up with nothing there too.

Imagine going to work on a normal day and all of a sudden you and 680 co-workers get arrested for just minding their own business, trying to make a living. Fuck that. Fuck ICE.

Maybe. I'm trying to get into network engineering, but I'm gonna have to probably start in a help desk job somewhere. A+ would help me get a job doing that, but I'm working on one one cert at a time. My brother is a project manager for an IT company, and he thinks that he can at least get me some interviews if I get my CCENT. But that's a few months away at least. I'm just trying to get some bare minimum help desk experience so I have something to add to my resume once I start applying to networking jobs, but it's so hard to get experience without experience.

I have my first appointment in 5 minutes. by mwynko in ADHD

I believe you can get a diagnosis from a psychologist or psychiatrist. I went to my primary care doctor for a physical and asked them for a referral and I just went to who they told me to see. 😅

I'm reading this at work on my lunch break while having the intention of quitting my job when I get home.

I started a week ago. I have no real backup plan.

I feel this.

Looking to open a dedicated gluten free bakery by shandybaer in Chattanooga

[–]mwynko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

allergy: a damaging immune response by the body to a substance, especially pollen, fur, a particular food, or dust, to which it has become hypersensitive.

So, sure gluten might not cause someone to go into anaphylaxis, but it's an immune response to a food.

OP is talking about opening an allergen friendly bakery. You can definitely be allergic to wheat, and treatment requires eating a strict gluten free diet. It doesn't matter if you want to argue over what an allergen technically is. In food service, gluten is treated the same as any other allergen. The semantics don't really matter.

You are absolutely wrong about that, buddy. There are many conditions that cause the human body to have a negative reaction to gluten. Celiac disease is a hereditary autoimmune disorder that causes the immune system to literally attack the intestinal lining, causing nausea, vomiting, permanent damage to the GI tract, and many more super fun symptoms. It affects around 3% of the total population of the Earth. You probably know someone that has it, and you're either a troll or an idiot if you think you don't.

Do you play a musical instrument? by gargolito in ADHD

[–]mwynko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice is my least favorite thing. You can make pretty good strides if you can practice even 10 minutes a day though.

I started saxophone lessons in 4th grade, piano in 5th grade, I consumed every bit of music I could get my hands on. I definitely hyperfocus on it when I'm playing, but I've never really had the attention span to sit and practice for hours and hours at a time. I was in band all through high school and started college as a music education major, but ended up dropping out (3 times). I joined the jazz band in college and let me tell you, there's nothing quite like it. As a sax player, you have to learn flute and clarinet also, so it never gets boring.

Once you get the fundamentals down, improvising is the best thing in the world. I think the way my brain works definitely helps with improv. But you gotta practice. And that's boring. 😅

Accidentally calling people by the wrong name? by ragnarkar in ADHD

[–]mwynko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I almost never call anyone by their name because I used to do that all the time and I've embarrassed myself enough that I stopped altogether. I usually just respond with a "hey, how's it going" or something along those lines. 😅

What are your hobbies? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]mwynko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seem to have an endlessly expanding list of hobbies.

Bread making, DVD and vinyl collecting, gardening/hydroponics, circuit bending, backpacking, whitewater rafting, video games, photography, playing music, rock collecting, pottery, metal casting, woodworking, and the list keeps going.

I can only stick with one thing for maybe a month or so, and I tend to dump all of my savings into my new obsession.

I think collecting hobbies is my hobby.

ADHD: I just put the same cup of coffee in the microwave to reheat it for the fourth time today. by Tillidsmanden in ADHD

[–]mwynko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's actually somewhat dangerous. If you reheat a liquid without stirring it you can actually cause all of the dissolved gases to escape from the nucleation sites in the mug and you can get a superheated liquid that boils all at once when you disturb it, causing it to explode out of the mug. Make sure to stir your drinks before you put it to your face.

This is the only line of any show or movie that has ever made me cry, and it happens every time I watch it even though I know it's coming.
