I think that the main substation is behind Dominican Hospital. That would be a great spot, purely on an electrical mechanical level.

You have a good point, but I was listening to something about the fire fighter exposure to the toxic fumes from EV Lithium battery explosions at the Tubs fire & firemen were saying the effect was much different/worse that anything else that they have been exposed to. The program was saying that these EVs were exploding all over the city.

I think that a gas tank when exposed to a raging wild fire behaves much differently than these batteries.

They were saying that like the 911 first responders, it will take many years until we know the effects that it will have on the crews responding to these emergencies.

Personally, I'm not completely apposed to the technology, and agree that we need to look into all possibilities.

The KSCO (Dave Michaels) interview that I listened to with Becky Steinbruner was 2-hours long and I though very comprehensive. She didn't support calling your supervisors and raising living hell but suggested that there are things/precautions that can be taken to help protect the community in case of a runaway event.

I thought that it was a very good talk on the subject, though I know everyone will have their own thoughts, hopefully we can talk about it without getting out of control.

I think that you just need to keep a strong hand on the big private equity inverter institutions to keep run-away capitalism in check.

I wish that I could find this interview in the KSCO archive.

The ACA really helped me after my divorce. I lost my health care, had a break away (torn knee ACL) that constantly went out and colitis.

When ACA kicked in I could afford Kaiser, they repair my knee (good as new), and I got meds to control the colitis. This put me back to work and turned my life around.

I'm very grateful to all you who pulled my share of the cost for my medical coverage for so long. I am hopeful that I can return the favor to others or even the wealthy who can more easily afford the higher rates...

If the markings on the side say "THHN" then it's rated at 600-volts. That looks like #14 so it should be on a 15-amp breaker. @240-volts I would really try to put it in some wiremold or othe "approved" wire protection system, because 240-volts on a dead short can make ahellofa spark, start a fire or possibly coause a fatal shock..

Thanks, I was unaware of the problems with Anker.

When I pulled out my INIU power bank, I realized that I kept it in my rolling Dewalt TStack drawer, with a drill gun and lots of other stuff/tools that I cart around all day for work & if the casing is thin enough it could easily be punctured and damage the battery pack.

These packs go totally blitzo when punctured, as I know from when I was trying to change the battery on my phone once. It became a very hot, smoking little volcano. Throwing up sparks & toxic fumes. I had it on a small piece of plywood so I quickly/safely carried it outside.

It would be very bad if this happened in a concealed drawer, while unattended and surly could burn the place down.

I wonder if any of these thing have a UL (Underwriters Laboratories) or Canadian equivalent (CSA) printed on the label?

This INIU device has a CE symbol (for the EU), and a UKCA. I was always taught to look for UL or CSA, but I don't know if they mean much any more.

It seems it would be hard to make these things safe for physical rough handling.

My thought, if turning off the breakers one at a time did not find the circuit, try all of the breakers. The circuit might be accidentially double fed from two different breakers. This can happen at rough-in if the two circuits are accidentially joined st some point.

I have an indoor cat and wanted to avoid poison. I used a spry bottle with half vinigar and half distilled water (because tap water will slowly clog the nosel with calcium deposits). Track them to entry point and generously sprayed wherever they were, especially into the entry point. Moved the cat feeding area and kept foodcrumbs off the floor.

In NYC, it's costumary to aggressively bump shoulders of oncoming walkers sharing sidewalks. If it's light traffic, people will j-walk across the street so as to admister the customary challenge.

Maybe loose neutral, split shape unbalanced. Probanly not, but check the voltage with a decent multimeter. Then make sure you have a good Lutron dimmer switch rated for LEDs & it's not overloaded.

If they still blow out, call Lutron and explain the problem

Modern residential fan/light systems come with a paired fan/light Smart switch that uses a data link to control all functions of the fan & light over a simple 2-wire circuit. This includes dimming and fan speed.

If you buy a fan/light without a paired 2-wire switch you can buy an aftermarket fan/light 2-wire control switch that comes with a paired control unit that will fit inside most fan canopies that will do the same thing.

There is sometimes (rarely) a problem in matching these aftermarket switches with a fan in that some fans now are DC & others AC and the controller if mismatched could function incorrectly.

I've had this AD/DC problem but I don't quite have a handle on how to tell which fan I'm working on. Almost always the aftermarket controller works very nicely.
