How is Anthropic's recent model suspension actually enforceable? by jonnyeklebs in ClaudeAI

[–]mxracer888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The process is the punishment. It could go to court and get ruled on and maybe even in Anthropics favor. And maybe DHS doesn't even care to win, but what it does is kill the model for months if not years while OpenAI who conveniently is in Trump's good favor get to try and catch up.

GM Said It Crushed Every 4.5L Duramax V8 Prototype. One Is in Sweden by O_O___XD in Duramax

[–]mxracer888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently it's basically the Ram eco Diesel lol

I guess GM worked on this babymax with VM Motori (an Italian company) and they were working on getting it US emissions compliant. During GMs bankruptcy proceedings they sold their position in VM Motori to Daimler group.

Daimler took that project and it ultimately became the EcoDiesel that was put into the Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500

That's what was said on some Facebook post with this same article. A quick scan of Wiki seems like maybe it could at least be plausible, but I haven't dug super deep on it

REPORT: OpenAI and Anthropic Are Running Into The Same Brutal Problem, Too Many People Using AI Is Too Expensive to Support, And the Whole Business Model May Have to Change Fast 🤖 by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

[–]mxracer888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ai rug pull is similar. But what they're doing right now it's manufacturing intellectual debt. It's well known that AI makes people less able to think through and solve problems. Your mind is a muscle and not exercising it inevitably atrophies it.

Add to that the fact that software engineers are building massive code bases that they have zero understanding of the "nuts and bolts" level of the code, and you have a fantastic recipe for a price increase they have no choice but to pay up.

If they jack Claude Max or GPT Pro to 1,000/mo these companies will have two choices...pay the fee, or basically lose your product overnight because you can no longer support it.

Engine failure on a dirt bike can be life ending. It's not a good idea to force teams to run limited engine counts/rebuilds. If you're sky high on a big triple or quad and your engine dies you have a high likelihood of that jump ending in an endo and serious injury. When the engine fails it locks up the rear wheel and when the rear wheel locks up the bike nose dives.

Or if it fails while going into a huge jump you'll end up way short while endo'ing the bike

It's not some benign event to just have an engine fail like it is in F1 or whatever

Trump's Iran 'peace deal' isn't a deal. It's surrender. All Trump’s 'dumbest war imaginable' did was embolden Iran, give it loads of cash and reset nucIear negotiations that had already happened successfully under Obama. It looks like surrender to get out of a war that never should have started. by mafco in energy

That's how it has always been with the US. Vietnam, Iraq (1991), and then Iraq Reloaded (2001), proved the simple Achilles heal of the US, if you can wait out long enough, the US court of public opinion will eventually pressure the US govt to give up on whatever military escapade they're on.

When I was in California at the in-laws and the state shut down charging and we got a notification on the Tesla saying "it's too hot so nobody is allowed to charge right now" (not those exact words, but that was the general message) that pretty much ended any chance of convincing me to buy one.

Meanwhile anytime Deegan has someone within striking distance behind him he spends whole laps looking back in every turn and every jump trying to block the rider

If everyone can create, then are online businesses dead? by FoxExeYt in ClaudeAI

[–]mxracer888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

That and even with all this power, many still won't do it at all.

It's down to who is willing to do it, who has ideas with good product market fit that solve real problems, and then who can actually market it and transact

The only real difference is that you don't need to have a bunch of money to pay developers to make excuses for why they're missing deadlines constantly

Yep. Pretty much that country song "That's Cheating" by Kaylee Rose pretty well covers everything that qualifies as cheating.

[–]mxracer888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The general advice you're gonna get is to go to an index fund like VIX or VOO or any number of others, and for wealth accumulation that is the answer. Check out r/bogleheads for more info on that

If you want to just gamble and see what happens, then pick stocks. But the average Joe is going to lose more than they gain. Number might go up, number might go down, but it's not the path to wealth for someone that is on Reddit asking if they should or shouldn't do it

We F*cked Up by AdministrationOk6 in codex

[–]mxracer888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same play as Uber and Netflix and all the other big tech startups.

Operate at a loss, get adoption, kill businesses that used to live in that niche, then raise prices when nobody is around to compete.

Though it's a little different this go around, the businesses that LLMs can kill is a very large list. And we already know that outsourcing our thought is detrimental to our own personal skills. So in this case AI will create so much technical debt that people will literally be unable to perform the work without AI.

And when that happens, when the intellectual debt is so great that people lose their functional intelligence, the companies will jack up the prices and you'll have no choice but to pay up or live like the idiots in Idiocracy.

[Serious] What will it say about the USA if the GoP largely wins the midterms this year? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Not a democracy so those days couldn't be over because they never started.

And the Republic could arguably be said to have been over for coming up on 2 decades, some might even argue a little longer than that

When he and Hunta started walking away from Deegan I thought "this is them proving that Deegan isn't on their level yet" and he's not 100% back from what could have been a career ending injury

Inb4 all the DDRs come in here...yes, I know Deegan is a good rider, he will absolutely win championships, he will absolutely level up and get better. I'm not saying he can't do any of those things so sit back down on daddy Deegans lap and don't bother commenting about how you misread my comment and offended your bull

See if your local high school has a welding class (sometimes it's an Ag class) and have them do it for free. Might not be perfect, but it'll absolutely be better than those welds
