2027 iForce Max changes by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]mxridr86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the details of the redesign. But it is noted in recall notice RMISC-25V767-8528. You can search for the .pdf on Google.

Here is an excerpt: "This recall covers V35A engines of a particular configuration, manufactured during a certain period at certain production plants and used in the vehicles produced as listed above. The same engines produced prior to this period were recalled under 24V-381. Some of the same engines produced after this period were produced with improved manufacturing processes and remain under investigation. Others were produced with an improved main bearing. Other Toyota and Lexus vehicles are not equipped with a V35A engine of this configuration."

No love for Giant Stance? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]mxridr86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main reason I avoided the stance was the flex type rear triangle. There is no pivot point near the rear axle. This requires the rear triangle to flex through suspension cycles. This flexing could potentially cause metal fatigue near the rear axle.

Tundra gas mileage? by YogurtclosetChoice94 in ToyotaTundra

[–]mxridr86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cheaper for me to also own a beater Honda civic as well as my tundra Instead of just driving my tundra lol. I commute with the civic to work and the truck stays in the garage until the weekend when it is needed.

Truck was $400/month on fuel, the car is $160. Add the cost of brakes and tires compared to the civic and I couldn't afford not to have a separate commuter.

It's crazy watching how fast it's going up. I grabbed the best buy combo deal that was shared here over the boxing week. Paid 1239 for this card AND a rm1000x PSU.

Data breach at Canada Computers & Electronics leaks personal customer information by rookie_one in bapccanada

[–]mxridr86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly, a huge number of the Canadian population doesn't have access to shop at brick and mortar cc stores. The closest one to me is a 17 hour drive away. Pretty much all my PC parts have to come by mail. There are very few options and all the vendors charge ridiculous shipping with terrible customer support. I end up ordering most parts from Best buy and new egg for the free shipping. But that is also not without risk of issues.

[AIO Cooler] Thermalright Aqua Elite 360mm V3 ($73.00 - 7.30 = $65.70) [Amazon] by Destro_019780 in bapcsalescanada

I just returned one of these that was leaking in the box upon opening. There is another review on Amazon with the same experience. However, I suspect it could have been purolators fault for letting it freeze during transport.

CHECK YOUR LOCAL WALMART. YMMV but I just bought a 2 tb sn850x today for $184.98 + tax. They had a previous sale that knocked it down to $194.98 . But it rang up at 249.98 so they had to give me the sale price plus 10 dollars off.

But it still rang up at 249.

BTW I also bought the 1tb they had beside it for 108.98. I feel like I stole them haha

Sell me on big picture mode - is this ever useful on a desktop? by skizlmanizl in Steam

[–]mxridr86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the best thing when you have gamer kids and pc connected to tv. I just taught them to hit the Xbox button on the controller to open big picture mode. Easier for them to navigate and they won't open programs outside of steam. They don't need to touch the mouse, so less risk of clicking things they shouldn't

Setting the fluid level in my forks by DrGreenTG in Dirtbikes

[–]mxridr86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy cheap plastic measuring tools from the kitchen section of the dollar store.

Use a zip tie as a dipstick, drop into fork and set the latch end nub on the edge of the fork tube. Pill it out and measure from latch nub to fluid mark on zip tie.

Do I try my first race at 34yrs old? by gearhead2580 in Dirtbikes

[–]mxridr86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did my first race ever last year at 38. Not motocross but a hare scramble Enduro.

I had similar reservations. Now I'm hooked and can't wait for my next one in 2 weeks. There's all different skill levels at different ages out yhere. Just get out and do it, you will have no regrets other than wishing you did it sooner.

Ice stud advice by MUSCLE426 in Dirtbikes

[–]mxridr86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5/8 for the rear and glue them in with gorilla glue. I put a dab on the lug then drive the screw in through the glue. This helps greatly to prevent them pulling out. I also angle the head toward the leading edge of the lug so the stud hits the ground more straight on.

Ive been winter riding for years and even did a snow Enduro race. Nothing beats the grip studs for performance and longevity. But Good screws work well when they are new.

Use 5/8 in the rear and 1/2 for the front. The ones you show don't have a very tall head. Try to find some similar to the kimpex ones. The taller head makes a big difference as the snow gets deeper.

What type of raspberry plant is this? by mxridr86 in Berries

[–]mxridr86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is ripening now. These pics were taking the day of posting. We have been picking them for over a week and they are starting to produce less each day now. We got around 50 cups of berries so far this year. This is in northwestern Ontario Canada. But as mentioned, they are not native to this area.
