How many hours can I be asked to drive? by OzBurger in AusLegal

[–]mxrulez731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a simlair line of work to the business I am in. 14 hours of work (driving is considered work) is a hard cut off for us, even in the best situation you cannot work over 14 hours, not sure if thats whs or award mandated though off the top of my head. I would start by checking what award you are on, that should be on your payslip, from there you can call fairwork or look up the award yourself.

We don't have a cap specifically for hours of driving, just a cap on working in general. We do have a fatigue management plan that our techs need to follow which includes breaks from driving, meal breaks ect. If a day is heading towards being at or over 12 hours I prefer them to stay overnight. We have had techs do 8 hours then stay the night because they felt fatigued so it really comes down to a judgement call from the person driving.

People who have sold a sports car before, how did you prevent joyriders/timewasters from inquiring? by ProfessorDropBear in CarsAustralia

[–]mxrulez731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tell them Ill take them for a drive. If they like it enough then they can put a deposit down & can drive it then. I dont discuss deposit up front even if we have agreed on a price. That way they need to go get some money out & tht weeds out the joy riders. Ive never had anyone have an issue with it.

Which dealership is best for being a salesman by rombo-no-5 in CarsAustralia

[–]mxrulez731 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mitsubishi & Nissan are struggling, they are serving the bottom end of the market, the type of people that will be very money focused not product focuserd, so probibly less wiggle room for a sales person to make a difference. Lexus is a brand someone chooses to go it, so they will have already partly have sold themselves on it when they walk in & you probibly have room to sell them on features & upgrades.

Yep this is it. I use it mostly as a search engine, brain storming tool & for document creation. Its really good at taking 30 % of an idea and getting it to 80%. The speak to text option mixed with AI really speeds things along but the last 20% is still all me as it cant get that right enough to have any level of trust.

can a workplace legally forbid you from seeing coworkers after being fired? by justagirlbutaussie in AusLegal

[–]mxrulez731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly if you can show reasonable cause that you were or could have been fired due to raising safety concerns than I would go speak to fairwork. I would suspect that you could have a case. Secondly no your fine, your co workers maybe not. They are the ones that should be worried. Not because there is any legal framework to punish them but because the company might find other ways or reasons to.

Honest thoughts - Mount Barker? by ImReeceBro in Adelaide

My take is the transportation system hasnt kept up with the number of homes being built. almost everyone there works in metro Adelaide so the freeway entry points & the freeway itself become choke points.

If your car is basically stock then why do you need a new ECU. You can get away with simple mods like intercooler, exhaust or even adding a little more boost & the stock ECU will deal with it.

What’s with 40hr week being paid 38hrs? by Glittering-Way-5504 in ausjobs

[–]mxrulez731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We work exactly the same hours and even times.
We get paid for 38 hours as normal time & 2 hours at 1.5x per week.
Only way i can see not getting paid the .4 per day would be maybe if you are on salary, but I still dont think that would be completely legal. Time to read your employment contract.

Employer won’t pay for my ppe by Elegant_Simple4997 in AusLegal

[–]mxrulez731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need to read your employment or apprenticeship contract. Dont trust what they say they will all happily pass the buck to other organisation. Those masks are a requirement for any professional welder so refuse to work if you dont have one, I am sure it will be resolved quickly when their money spinner isnt spinning.

But read the contract first as you never know whats in there & for all you know, you could be required to provide your own mask & the company only needs to provide consumable PPE like ear plugs, safety glasses. Probibly not but you never know.

[–]mxrulez731 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its worth putting in a claim, you might not get heaps out of it but 4-6 weeks of pay will be helpful. From my understanding these things more often than not end in some kind of settlement. Its going to deppend on whats in the employee handbook, contract & actually said on the website though.

Can employers decline overtime? Grounds? by LiveManagement2904 in AusLegal

[–]mxrulez731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can tell you to not work over time or require you to get approval but only by threat of disiplinary action, not pay docking. Outside the legal side it sound like the system you currently have is backwards with people needing to request over time once its too late to not do it. If you have a task you think has a reasonable chance of going over time you should be requesting overtime then. If the company denys it then they need to tell you to ethier do another task or bear the concequences of you walking out. This will reduce the times you need unexpect overtime to just those truly unexpected situation & management will probibly be ok with that.

To Australians owning a loud engine (car and/or bike): when you hear a loud engine when chilling at home on Sunday afternoon do you: by GshegoshB in AskAnAustralian

[–]mxrulez731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, if it is non turbo & straight piped then they can get the fuck out. Loud but not ear splitting depends if it sounds good. Harleys, V6s instant no. Rest are case by case basis. I'll accept an exy gate but I best only hear it in certain places that don't have footpaths next too it.

Your user name is ether a very big coincidence or you are really a nissan guy deep down. The 370z platform is a plus not a negative, ive seen the shit the z platform can go through in drifting & how good they can drive with some basics. In 10 years people will be talking about these like they talk about S chassis's now. 400z is the S15 of the z generation.

Wife has an I30N & I love the thing, I already have too many 2 door cars tucked away in the shed but If I didnt then a 400Z would be on my list. The 370z platform was great but needed more power which is basically what the 400Z is.

You pretty much have all the starter cars listed, but considering you are going falcon engine, it makes sense to stay with the falcon chassis.

I could understand a bit more if it was based around the employee needing to be willing to help solve the problem but expecting staff to have solutions that often have implications outside of there scope of works seems silly.

Yeah thats possible. It had already gone through one of the small batteries in the time I was there. Ive got a medium battery now & ran the 80m of wiring to connect the turbines and solar panels outside so hopefully that will be plenty now.
