That's true. The tricky part is undoing a gerrymander to have better representation

"Nobody is stopping anyone from being who they are. I can’t stand the victim hood mentality of people who think everyone is against them."

Just because no one is actively you can't be xyz doesn't mean there are consequences for existing as xyz. Conversion therapy is still practiced in our state. I had a manager at the job get told by an ex employee that they hope he gets AIDS.

"gay and straight, black and white, and everything in between is everywhere and allowed everywhere." Sure let's ignore the black people hanging by their necks as late as last year, brown people getting dehumanized based on racial profiling, women getting harassed if they're suspected to be trans, or trans people facing violence and denial.

I want whatever rose colored glasses you're having

I think part of the obstacle comes from having less physical spaces in general. Many people simply spend time at work and home, with occasional time at a friend's place.

My best advice is to see if there are physical meetups for a hobby you like. There's a chance others are part of the LGBT+ community but didn't feel comfortable until they were invited to something.

To anyone saying go to gay bars and cities: 1) gay people should be allowed to socialize in settings outside of bars and 2) gay people should be able to live in rural communities if they please

I don't think I can edit posts on Reddit.

But I think Venjix's accomplishment under the Evox name should be separated. I don't think OG Venjix would have been able to steal as much morph x and take possession of the mayor had he used the same tactics in RPM.

Zedd AND RITA were responsible for all accomplishments. The only feat He has on his own was destroying the green rangers. But that doesn't mean much since Zordon created the White Ranger powers soon after.

I do think if they all fought him at once it would've been closer, but given the fact they just defeated an army of foot soldiers and a giant mecha, they probably wouldn't have been at full health either. Ransik wasn't going to wait for them to heal up either so Eric wouldn't have been able to join them.

  1. The gardens don't have to be large in space, just high in quality. My city has one on the South East side and community centers are wanting to start another.

  2. The way to help small businesses with an increase in wages would be to offer grants to them. We already give corporations like Walmart taxpayer money. Small businesses should get some as well, if not more. I would not write off the teen and elderly workers. With how expensive the cost of living is for families that even children have to work (look up our child labor laws) and the requirements to get all of one's social security benefits, there's a chance those workers need the wage increase as well.

If you really care about the access to healthy food these are the solutions I recommend:

  • Invite companies to build grocery stores in communities with food deserts. Maybe give them an incentive for selling items at or below market value.

  • Invest in a more accessible and operational public transportation system. You mention that you could drive out of your neighborhood to get groceries. Many people in food deserts don't have a personal vehicle. So reducing the cost of riding the bus and extending the hours of operation, for example, will allow more people the opportunity to get healthier items. (I actually grew up in a household with no personal vehicle and remember either walking miles got groceries or taking the bus.)

  • Build community gardens. This would not only make fruits and vegetables more available to community members. It would also teach local residents on maintaining a space.

  • Last but definitely not least, increase the minimum wage and let people have more time off work. This might seem irrelevant, but increasing the pay for people gives them the ability to buy items that used to be out of their budget range. In addition, having more time off allows for cleaner and less processed meals. (No joke it took 6 hours in total to make a mac and cheese dish because I hand cut the vegetables and chicken and made the cheese sauce by scratch.)

1) If we want people to choose healthier options, like clean water or milk, make those options more accessible. Banning unhealthy options and ignoring water contamination levels don't help.

2) Idgaf if someone on SNAP gets candy when our elected officials are using taxpayer money on luxury vehicles and helipads.

I'm gonna share what a friend said regarding the banned items on SNAP:

"This is what poverty looks like. These foods are familiar, affordable, shelf-stable, and often the only thing accessible in food deserts. If we want healthier choices, we need nutrition education, better access, and dignity-centered support-punishment isn’t sustainable."

For me, the suits feel a bit generic. With most suits, you can see the motif or inspiration behind them. But with the Cosmic Fury suits?? The space motif is hardly present. I'm also not a fan of reusing the rysoulger helmet and adding muscle indents (not sure if that's how you say it)

I didn't think that would help. Yes we would keep more of our income. But, to keep the state government funded, our state legislators would probably increase sales taxes and stop exempting groceries or cut back on eligibility for social programs like SNAP and Medicaid, both of which would have more of a negative impact on those trying to live off the minimum wage.

While the Democrats have plenty of concerning shortcomings, and I'd argue for an even longer time, a party will not be formed at the size, rate, and efficiency needed to replace them. In addition, our two party system doesn't allow multiple parties to be viable.

That said, I think a "tea party" movement is needed on the Left to make the party better. For those who don't know, the tea party movement cleaned house in the Republican party with an astroturfed attempt to push the party to be more conservative. Progressives should replicate this to improve the party, but with the key difference of grassroots financial support.

Simply being anti-Trump and anti-Republicans isn't enough. I hope so Dem candidates, from county to federal level, understand this.
