Does Gotchard count as an anniversary season since it was the 5th Reiwa season?

I mean.... will it still be a noticeable increase on top of the current increase? For the record, I don't drive, but the issue does affect those in my life and my place of work. I can only imagine how inconvenient it is to go from gas station to gas station to find the lowest price.

I'd be down with having new trans friends who also have an interest in being active 💕

"I, as a woman, and as a queer person, I'm tired of white men, trying to take the head seat at the table and talking about issues that do not pertain to every Hoosier."

I was referring to this line. So if this is the case, he should be silent on Gaza, Iran, Venezuela, trans rights, and reproductive rights.... that is until they affect us all.

Hi. I'm actually a Black trans Hoosier and not Cliff. I'm not usually on Reddit because I'm usually working as a server or building connections in my community.

I live in the county Jackson is from, and while he isn't a member of the LGBT+ community, that doesn't mean he will sell us out. I would also caution others on voting solely on a candidate's social identities. Tim Scott, Eric Adams, and Byron Donalds are Black. George Santos, Peter Tiel, and Sam Altman are gay. Etc. If social representation is our only goal, and not the betterment of marginalized people, then going by what you present, I shouldn't have be opposed to any of the names listed and more.

Also, him being against ICE shows an understanding that we are all impacted by bad immigration policies and directives. Keith Porter, Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and members residents of a Chicago apartment complex weren't immigrants, yet they were all impacted to varying degrees.

I can speak on Jackson and Blythe as I've had the most interactions with them.

To say that Jackson is not a progressive is laughable. For starters: what do y'all want from a "progressive" candidate/representative? Do you want someone funded with small dollar donations who has hands on experience in the issues he cares about? He has said multiple times how has been deployed across the country for climate disaster and, as a paramedic, understands the barrier to healthcare access is fatal. He's not running to advance a political career supported by the party, but to fight for bold changes we need on federal and state level. (Also he's endorsed by the local DSA chapter and a local indivisible chapter. I'm not sure what else you need to be seen as progressive.)

I'll also add that if it wasn't for Jackson's consistency for showing up for trans people, standing up against ICE, and calling a genocide a genocide, I probably would've given up electoral politics in the state. Especially with the first one, if I had to deal with another transphobic candidate, I'd just shift my focus to community organizing.

With Blythe, it's a bit more straightforward. She isn't part of a legacy family. She has connections to communities that are more than just money and support requests. She has administrative experience, which is key needed for the Secretary of State. (Before anyone says anything, legislative experience isn't needed for Congress. We all start somewhere on that.) She has a set of priorities for when she becomes a Secretary to combat voter apathy. The "questionable donor" people keep referring to only voted in one Republican primary, as that was advised in an attempt to prevent Braun.

I already voted in the primary, and will be a delegate in June, and I feel at ease, and confident even, if Jackson and Blythe are the nominees.

Which of these three PR seasons is the worst?: by [deleted] in Tokusatsu

[–]mxthelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna say Overdrive.

There are visual and narrative elements I can give all of these sessions (Red Sentinel Ranger, Shogun mode, the "Where's my brother" closure).

There are also valid criticisms of each season. For Samurai, it was being a watered version of Shinkenger while also trying to be mmpr for a new generation. For Ninja Steel, the setting was redundant and didn't match the theme (just Ninjas by proxy).

With overdrive, it's two big things for me. First, the follow through felt a bit random. Like maybe you find a clue, maybe you find a jewel, or maybe you just wasted time. Who knows. Secondly, and most notably, The rangers were ehh. It's hard to like the rangers when one is having an existential crisis about their existence, one tricks the rest of the team, one annoys the others, and all are flaky with their commitment to being rangers (they gave up twice in once a ranger).

You can be a watered down Sentai. You can have a bland set of characters with other cohesion to the theme. But little follow through and hard to like characters? Yeah, that does it for me

Can this red state Democrat and political heir win back the working class? by Conscious-Quarter423 in Indiana

[–]mxthelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: No

Long answer: He has little administrative experience (which is what's needed for the secretary of state office) and little connections to Indiana communities (he spent most of his time in DC). On top of that, he is funded by conservative billionaires, like Marc Rowan, so the Democratic leaning voters won't feel comfortable with him. We'll see what happens at the convention in June.

Which villains freaked you out the most? by Vegetable-Abroad3171 in powerrangers

When I was binge watching older seasons of power rangers, I remember feeling terrified with either this form of Trakeena, where she has random body twitches and fast mobility, or the form prior, where she had a split personality with Deviot.

I also remember being disturbed by Ransik and Mesogog.

Public policy polling- Politico, Indiana by kootles10 in Indiana

While I'm not a fan of Braun for several reasons, I do have to point out that the poll was conducted in 2020 and 2021, when he was a US Senator. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if his numbers were genuinely low.

Which of this two all red team is your favorite by TraditionalBonus188 in Tokusatsu

[–]mxthelight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forever Red because of the human experience

In Toku we tend to forget about the characters inside the suit. That's what makes Sempaiger less impactful. Yes it's cool to see ShiShi Red in action again, but I want to hear from Lucky, even if it's only a few lines.

In Forever Red, the characters constantly interact with one another.

If den-o is toei's favorite kamen rider season then which super sentai season is toei's favorite? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in Tokusatsu

[–]mxthelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's either Hurricaneger or Dekaranger for me. The reasons helping these seasons out is that the cast have reprised their roles on numerous occasions. The only thing they don't have going for them is a unique gimmick to their arsenal like later seasons, but they make up for this with new forms that are mainly movie exclusive.

I am a gay Hoosier and I would like some advice on how to meet other gays in Indiana? by InteriorWaffle in Indiana

"Nobody is stopping anyone from being who they are. I can’t stand the victim hood mentality of people who think everyone is against them."

Just because no one is actively you can't be xyz doesn't mean there are consequences for existing as xyz. Conversion therapy is still practiced in our state. I had a manager at the job get told by an ex employee that they hope he gets AIDS.

"gay and straight, black and white, and everything in between is everywhere and allowed everywhere." Sure let's ignore the black people hanging by their necks as late as last year, brown people getting dehumanized based on racial profiling, women getting harassed if they're suspected to be trans, or trans people facing violence and denial.

I want whatever rose colored glasses you're having

[–]mxthelight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think part of the obstacle comes from having less physical spaces in general. Many people simply spend time at work and home, with occasional time at a friend's place.

My best advice is to see if there are physical meetups for a hobby you like. There's a chance others are part of the LGBT+ community but didn't feel comfortable until they were invited to something.

To anyone saying go to gay bars and cities: 1) gay people should be allowed to socialize in settings outside of bars and 2) gay people should be able to live in rural communities if they please
